Curious is Young is heading to the IL. -
Big ginger American League corner infielder, originally drafted by the Mets. He apparently died two weeks ago, but it is only being reported as of yesterday. Supposedly (and this is hard to believe), was the first player from southwest Florida in the bigs, and opened up the territory for the players that would follow.

Whoah. I guess this possibly means they are flying into Donald J. Trump International, as gross as that would be. -

Luis Robert hits the 10-Day IL, as every day is precious, with "left hamstring discomfort." Amazing that he does this on the Orioles payroll, as the team faithful still don't know why they aren't paying Adley Rutschman. My new theory is that this was some sort of backroom moneylaundering scheme between the Mets and Orioles.

Call your Red Sox pals and offer condolences on the passing of former skipper Joe Morgan. Morgan had the thankless task of taking over mid-season for pennant-winning John McNamara. A manager without MLB playing experience was such a rarity at the time, more than a few outlets ran pictures of his Hall of Fame-bound secondbaseman namesake. As such, he was widely considered to be a placeholder, but ended up lasting three and a half years, always finishing above .500 despite playing in baseball's most competitive division, and having a veteran team changing the guard on his watch, and he ended up joining the Sox Hall of Fame.

I really appreciate Kodai Senga's non-Devin Williamsiness. They both have the same problem of having a name-brand off-speed pitch (Ghost ForkTM/AirbenderTM) that they can be shy about throwing for a strike, but Senga has the high heater to at least keep batters honest.

Anyshmutz, Scott has mowed through the first six. The Mets booth is speculating that young viewers don't know who Aretha Franklin is. This, of course, has been a real concern at least since Steely Dan released "Hey Nineteen" in 1980. And, of course, now young viewers are probably even less likely to know who Steely Dan is.
