  1. What is the source for those stats?
  2. VITER FRAUD! VOTER FRAUD!

Not really, the Mets have pretty much the same winning percentage now that they did after the Dodgers series. They've held steady. I was talking about just during the stretches themselves. After going 18-8 during that tough part of the sked they're so far a less than impressive 5-4 vs a trio of bottom feeders [PIT, WAS, MIA]

  5. HOLY SHIT on the ATL/SEA game!!! I wasn't connected live this afternoon so am just catching up now. Braves, down 6-1, score one in the 8th then 5 in the 9th to take a one run lead due largely to a HR in each inning by the rookie Harris*. But then, with a chance to close out the game, Kenly Jansen, who's been an issue for them, goes: GO, HR, line out, HR * even though not called up until May, I think Harris is closing in on Pujols oe: cross-posted pist w/FMan
  6. They've not seen or shown him on TV
  7. Braves went the entire top of the 1st without hitting a HR tonight in Seattle (they hit four on Friday) or even without scoring any runs. Mariners batting bottom 1st as they're just getting underway out there tonight.
  8. So I was getting already to complain that, if the inning had ended on Canha's AB, that 5 runs wouldn't have been a lot to show for 10 hits + 3 BBs in just 4 innings. But the GS took care of all that. It's good to be greedy.
  9. Repeat after me Frankie: I will not GIDP. I Will not GIDP.
  10. Got fortunate on that one.

  12. =Fman99 post_id=106820 time=1662807543 user_id=86] The players have officially gone on the record through their union to also indicate they do not favor the pitch clock or the shift ban. So, really, who's clamoring for this exactly?
  13. And "inching" is exactly the pace at which they're moving.
  14. Yeah, we just got out hit by the worst hitting team in the league, they had more XBHs than we had hits, our starter sucked and we hit into two killer GIDPs. But, what the hell, let's convince ourselves that it's all Joely Rodriguez's fault.

  16. So this easy schedule thing is working out well. The Braves have to be laughing themselves silly.
  17. They're going to have to do it in the 9th with the bottom of the order.
  18. If you're trying to avoid killer GIDPs, you'd probably choose to send up McNeil and Lindor up to do it.
  19. And now here's the third mound visit in a four pitch span only this one, instead of eating up 30-40 seconds, will ensure nearly 3 minutes where nothing happens. And THIS can't be fixed when you're trying to pare away dead time?!?!?!?
  20. There was just a mound visit (by the catcher) ONE PITCH AGO and now the P.C. needs to come out!!!!
  21. Well THAT makes this night a whole lot less gloomy ... at least for now.
  22. The Rays are in the Bronx this weekend after taking two of three last week at home. But, at 4.5 games down, they NEED to win this series and almost need to sweep it. The biggest thing working in the Yanx' favor is that the Rays & the Jays, the next pursuer at 6.0 games out, have NINE games remaining against each other!!! So the anti-NYY forces really have to pick and champion among those two and ride that horse til it drops. Rays also have five games against the Astros between now and the end of the season. Braves face the only winning team they're going to see on their current west coast trip as they'll be in Seattle for three. This would be a real good time for the NYM bats to NOT disappear like they did at the beginning of this so-called 'easy' stretch of games.
