  1. Sitting here thinking about all the times I've been told over the years that baseball is dull because there's not enough scoring.
  2. 3 innings's worth of pitches (45) to get thru 4 And I think he was at 17 after 1 so it's been about 9/per since.
  3. Gary wondering if Anderson is a pitch tipper. Maybe the newly called-up Gore is helping them with that.
  4. Stick that in Anderson's reduced HR rate and smoke it!
  5. Has there EVER been more power potential in the 8 & 9 slots than Gallo & Bellinger? Both have hit 40+ in a season. Don't know but I'd bet against it.
  6. 4 of the first 6 outs via semi-deep FO's A bit unusual for JdG
  7. =Ceetar post_id=105860 time=1661954692 user_id=102] Another Mets card from 1516
  8. =MFS62 post_id=105894 time=1661976453 user_id=60] You'll be able to answer that yourself if you read the piece
  9. Did the SNY piece also advocate for Lugo over Joely in the late innings of Sunday's game too or is he fine with Rodriguez after he tosses a scoreless inning and only questions his use after games where he knows that Rodriguez got touched for two soft hits by lefties?
  10. Y'know for a team that's scored a grand total of three runs over the last two games via two solo HRs plus a three-base error, we sure do a lot of bitching about a bullpen that gave up A run (on a cue shot double plus a stick-the-bat-out single) while being asked to cover 17 outs in those games.
  11. The parade of LHPs continues as Tyler Anderson faces Jacob deGrom Anderson, 32, in his 7th ML season, his 1st season as a Dodger (previously with COL, SFG, PIT, SEA) His career ERA prior to this season was 4.62 and, aside from his rookie season, had never been under 4.35 ... so this season it's 2.69 His career WHIP was 1.32 ... and this year it's 1.02 His career record was 29-38 ... so this season he's 13-2 His H/9, HR/9, BB/9 are all at career lows and by big margins. And did I mention he's a lefty? Plus it's a JdG start so the Mets are contractually obligated to not hit.
  12. And Riley K'zzzz!!!
  13. Daniel Bard in to close for the Rox. 4-3 lead Swanson K's on three pitches Harris goes 6-3 on the first pitch he sees (Charles Nelson) Riley for the block
  14. Lefty Specialist wrote: This just is not a competitive bullpen come playoff time. It's got its issues like most (all?) pens do, but 1 run over 3-2/3 on 2 hits (plus 5 BBs ... 1 intentional) isn't exactly horrible, especially seeing as how the lone run was set up by a leadoff pool cue dubble by Freddie. iow, the pen wasn't our problem tonight
  15. Braves hosting Rox. Down by one in bottom 8 but threatening. 2nd & 3rd, 2 out STRIKE THREE and they're heading for the 9th
  16. Please no ground balls from Vogelsong.
  17. Lux followed by Trayce is my go-to cleaning method for germ and bacteria free surfaces.
  18. Subway must be really raking in the cash to afford all the (mostly sports) celebrities in their ads. Although I guess that beats having a child molester as your go-to pitch man. None of that cash is mine though. Haven't been to one in decades.
  19. LAD batters have been going from 0-2 to 3-2 Nimmo goes from 3-0 to K
  20. It was far too risky to try, but Canha could have maybe possibly allowed that fly ball to fall in order to try for the old 7-5-4 DP It would depend on how close to runner on 1st was hanging close to the bad (which I couldn't see) and would take a helluva lotta guts to try it.
  21. Edgy MD wrote: Too many Will Smiths in this league. Are they all slap hitters?
  22. As they'd say in London's west end: It's 'eath 'embree on to pitch
  23. So what was John Sterling's HR call on those occasions when Joey Gallo actually did connect as a MFY? Was it, "Oh Joey Gallo, you really murdered that one" ? probably not
  24. Willets Point wrote: How is a team with batters in the heart of their lineup batting .189 and .165 dominating MLB? Allowing more than 1/2 Run per game less than the next best club (NYM btw) at least partially explains things. It's a gap as large as the gap between the 2nd & 8th best rates.
  25. Willets Point wrote: Thing I learned: Timmy Trumpet is Australian. Thing I just learned by looking it up: his given name isn't really Trumpet!! (it's Smith)
