    One more with the Cubs then four with Pitt - all at home but no deGrom, no Scherzer, and no hitting. So I'm hoping we can sneak one of the next five and start to put a solid lock on that 2nd WC spot. If we get outside help that is.

    And now it's 4-1 Braves thanks to a dropped Fly Ball for the 3rd out followed by a single by a guy in A-ball when the season started plated another run. So maybe they can win AND laugh their asses off at the Mets at the same time.

    As I said, the circumstances will vary from year to year but, over the long run, adding a 3rd WC team almost assures that there will be more teams statistically "still in it" later into the season simply on the basis that that more teams will be within striking distance to the 3rd best non-division-leading team than they'll be to the 2nd best non-division-leading team.

    And three pitches after Joc Pederson, a ATL hero in last year's post-season but now playing for the Giants, makes the 3rd out with bases loaded in a 1 - 1 game, the Braves take a 3-1 lead on a 2R HR by Dansby Swanson.

    Giants have pushed across a run in the bottom of the 1st. But I think when the Braves finish laughing their collective asses off at the pathetic team they need to catch who can't beat the frigging Cubs with deGrom on the mound they'll probably fare much better.
