  1. And now it's 1 - 1 on a Matt Olson HR - cuz HRs is what the Braves do.
  2. Nats put up one in the 1st and force Jake Odorizzi to throw >30 pitches just to keep it there.
  3. The walk rate might be the most impressive part. A 65 - 70 point gap between a hitters BA & OBA is about average. Lurking around 100 and even 100+ point gap when young and young for your league is a very good sign.
  4. Who's this new guy replacing Jerry B.!!!! Booooooooooo
  5. I wonder if their refusal has anything to do with their rotation. They've used scrubs/call-ups the last two nights (and won anyway) so as to set up their pitchers for the Met series. Maybe a re-jiggering of the sked would have upset their plans. Just throwing out a guess.
  6. I think they should play through the hurricane. It might not be pretty baseball but it might be fun to watch ... y'know, from the dry, warm safety of my couch.
  7. fwiw, Baseball Prospectus puts the odds of the Mets winning the NLE at 60/40 (or, more accurately, 60.6/39.4) as they project the Mets to finish with a record of 101.3 & 60.7 while the Braves stumble to 100.7 & 60.3 Yeah, they get a little numbers happy over there. BB-Ref, meanwhile, favors the Braves to the tune of 70/30, so gofigger.
  8. =Gwreck post_id=108869 time=1664338259 user_id=56] It strikes me as odd to see the NHOP above .500 when the teams are tied in the standings.
  9. Edgy MD wrote: They'll wipe the floor with this team tomorrow. Yeah, I've been hearing that for four weeks now as they've struggled to stay over .500 against bottom feeders and wound up as the wipees as often as they've been the wipers.
  10. Top Ten Highlights of the game 1) Pete's swing 2 - 10) See #1
  11. Maybe we should start Diaz every night instead if starting all these games down 2 or 3 to zip in the 1st inning. And, no, I'm not serious.
  12. I don't see it though. We'd all be steaming if those were called on a Met pitcher. I know I would.
  13. Bleier seems a little rocky out there.
  14. btw, if you extrapolate a full season for Pete in 2020 he's On Top of that HRs in first four seasons list.
  15. 1/2 game lead. Or maybe more like 1/4 at this point.
  16. Still 8 - 2 in D.C. Nats batting, bottom 9 I'm starting to think that their comeback isn't going to happen.
  17. Edgy MD wrote: Blevins has been a strong presence this evening. Stronger than any Zeile or Recker game I remember. I agree.
  18. Nine pitches, 8 balls. And the hits just keep on coming.
  19. How many innings is this tonight with 2 (or 3) on with no outs? At least four I think.
  20. Frayed Knot wrote: And now it's 6 - 2 in D.C. as the Braves get their 2nd 2-out, 2-RBI hit of the game (to go along with their two HRs) 7 - 2 on Acuna's 2nd HR of the night. I've had the ATL/WAS game on for maybe a cumulative time of 90 seconds and I've seen them drive in more runs than the Mets have in 2 hours.

  22. Ya gotta like Bleday in LF jumping for a ball about 19 ft over his head.
  23. Well that helps a bit.
  24. Stick those two ABs in your shift and smoke it.
  25. We, meanwhile, have yet to get a baserunner.
