  1. Nimmo: "Left quad tightness"
  2. Not sure what it says that all those records are either real recent or way distant past.
  3. Braves end the 7th w/a K/CS DP so they're going to the 8th 3 - 2 Nats
  4. Nimmo grabbed his leg coming in for a fly ball. Didn't look real bad but yaneverknow.
  5. And yet even more urgency added to Marte's return. Still 2 - 1 in Atlanta, leadoff batter on for Nats in the 7th
  6. With the final game in the Braves/Nats series slated for a Noon start, some two hours ahead of our game, it's possible we could hit a quick tour if both NC & NY in rapid succession this afternoon.
  7. Out-hit 11 - 4. Weird game And "only" 3:19. I would have sworn this one was headed to 4:19
  8. I didn't know Maury was also a drug smuggler. Sudden thought, Maury Wills was from the DC area. Do you suppose that long time DC sportswriting legend Shirley Povich named his obnoxious kid after Wills? On second thought, the dates don't match up.
  9. Hopefully that AB by Tellez was the save right there.
  10. Voit FO's to semi-deep CF and the Braves win
  11. Base hit scores one. 1st & 3rd, 2 outs Joey Meneses, the 30 y/o Mexican rookie up Now 2nd & 3rd on an uncontested steal And now loaded as they IW Meneses to get to Luke Voit?????
  12. Bunt, Bunt, K, K
  13. K. Jansen in to close for the Braves, up by 2 Nats lead it off with a bunt single ... and now another!!!
  14. I'll tell you what, that GS woke me the fuck up. I was dragging all night prior to that.
  15. Not bad for a guy being called a waste of DNA just recently.
  16. Swanson just HR'd and it's 3 - 1 bottom 8 The Braves first two runs came on a Td'A HR
  17. I saw a uniform with the name Weeks last night but didn't know who it was. He's the younger brother of Rickie Weeks.
  18. Lindor just hit Mr. Rogers' pitch clear out of the neighborhood.

  20. Well that helps a wee bit.

  22. Nats starter Patrick Corbin walks off the mound with an apparent back issue 12 pitches into his night. So if the Braves are going to lose it'll have to be against an all-bullpen crew. Other stuff to keep track of tonight. -- the races for 61 and for 700. Both are two away. -- no NL team has matched or passed the 108 win mark since '86. The Dodgers can tie that mark by going 6 - 10 and obviously top it with anything better. With Minnesota tumbling out of the ALC race (7 G out) the ChiSox have the only shot at the Guardians and those two start a series in the Windy City tonight. The Sox, 4 games out, pretty much need to sweep.
  23. Edgy MD wrote: It seems like insurance is the new big sector in ballpark naming sponsors. Forget just ballparks, insurers seem to be a big part of ALL advertising. Seems you can't swing a negligently injured cat with hitting commercials for Geico, State Farm, Progressive, Liberty Mutual, or Allstate, and many of those have multiple campaigns going simultaneously.
