  1. Would be fun if they got to 12 ... or even close.
  2. Yanx & Braves scoreless thru 6 in a duel between Max Fried pitching against his old club [3 singles, 2 BB] and Tyler Mahle: 2 doubles + 1 single and 2 walks Red Sox eked out a 13 - 1 win vs ATH, two teams going in very opposite directions.
  3. This marks the Mets third four-game winning streak* in 2026 (I think I've IGT'd two of them now so am taking full credit for both). They've not won five in a row all year. * Games 8 thru 11 [at SFG x 3 then the first game home vs ARZ] - Games #53 thru 59 to close out May: the final game of a series vs Cincy followed by a series sweep of the Marlins (all at home).
  4. Another 6:40 EDT start as Robert Stock faces Pirate rookie RH'der Bing Bubba Chandler. Roy Reuben Chandler (23) was a 4th round pick by the Bucs in 2021 out of HS in Georgia. He appeared in 7 games last year but has been a full-time starter this season: 4 -8, 4.49, 1.41 His 7.7 H/9 rate is decent but BB/9 is high at 5.1 per. Expect partly cloudy and still in the mid-80s by game time with any storms not expected until after the game, 'round midnight as Charlie Parker might say.
  5. I feel safe in saying that Baty ain't making that throw ... oh wait!
  6. Now THA'T'S where Yan should be jumping!!
  7. Spencer Horwitz has hit into four outs in two ABs. He's halfway to achieving a 'Torre'
  8. It's amazing how much the booth, particularly G & R but K sometimes also, not only admit to a consistent flouting of speed limits but that they essentially brag about it.
  9. I feel safe in saying that Baty ain't making that catch.
  10. Games delayed In Pittsburgh, D.C., Philly, and the Bronx Cincy @ WAS just started. TOR @ PHI, and ATL @ NYY have yet to throw a pitch. But they're not delayed in Boston where the Sox are making the temporarily idle Yanquis see their 5 - 0 lead on the scoreboard.
  11. Sox now just 1/2 G behind the Yanx both for 2nd place in AL East and for the #1 WC slot. On June 17th that gap was 15.5 games. Three of the five AL teams above .500 are in the East. The ChiSox (+4) and Astros (+2) are the other two. Red Sox are hosting the Athletics this weekend while the Yanx get a visit from the Braves
  12. The premature jumping is the biggest issue right now. He's anticipating a strike out and going into his act too soon (if one of the hitters had hit an easy grounder to him it would have rolled right under his feet) which kind of kills the idea that this is all spontaneous joy. There's a bit of a post-jump part of the act too. 20
  13. It was, in fact, Stevie & Lindsey, back in the pre-FM days and before they took to screaming 'Go your own way' at each other.
  14. Is that first one Mazeroski? The second, I assume, is the Clemente bridge.
  15. Welcome to the Steel City where things get started at 6:40 Friday night as Zac (don't call me Zack) Thornton faces off against Carmen (don't call me Miranda) Mlodzinski [6 - 3, 3.15, 1.31 in 25 G tho just 9 starts] Cribbing partly off Coob's KTE, we won't see Paul Skenes in this series (he pitched Wednesday), or IL'd #2 starter Mitch Keller. We also won't see O'Neil Cruz, or wunderkind Konnor Griffin, or the recently DFA'd Marcell Ozuna, or RF Ryan O'Hearn. We likely Will see Luke Weaver at some point depending on the status of games when they hit late-innings. Pirates are a bunch of games ahead of us in the schedule though have hit the skids with 9 losses in their last 11 games as they've run into some tough competition lately: Yanx, Cubs, DBacks, Reds, Brewers And now bonus points to the first person to name the duo (not shown in the video) who sang backup on the studio version of this song.
  16. Our series of R&R HoF inspired thread titles leans on The Kinks to take us to Thursday's 1:10 start. OK so it's actually supposed to be partly-to-mostly cloudy today by the shores of Lake Erie but we're trying to reference good music here and not be a slave to meteorological accuracy. Nolan McLean [7 - 7, 3.29, 1.12] will face off against lefty Roster Griffin [12 - 3, 3.06, 1.12] in the series finale. This will be the 31 y/o Griffin's first start for the Guardians following three seasons in Japan before an off-season signing by the Nationals and a deadline trade brought him to Cleveland. Still a bit confused as to why the pitching starved Nats chose to deal away an arm in the midst of a good season with still a year-plus of team control left, but I guess they opted for the quantity over quality theory. Going for the sweep on the first weekend of August with a rested Nate Lavender in the pen. What could be better?
  17. They had to win that one, I already have tomorrow's IGT sketched out.
  18. It's being played for DeLauter who is Not from West Virginia.
  19. Alvarez and Lindor have yet to hit a fair ball in this game: 9 ABs, 7 Ks, 2 foul pop-outs.
  20. 1316 - Chayce McDermott 1317 - Cristian Pache
  21. A big 9th inning hit would be nice every once in a while.
