  1. 2 down in DC.
  2. Zvon--All of them are great but incorporating KABOOM onto a sign is outstanding.
  3. Washington ties it.
  4. Philadelphia gets a gift run to take the lead, 2-1.
  5. I agree. Delcos has WR with the Humber news from this morning.
  6. Humber goes Wednesday? Nothing against Humber but that's an interesting time for him to reappear. Pedro pitched on Friday so Wednesday should be his turn. I know that they want to give him an extra day of rest but the team doesn't have that luxury.
  7. From Delcos. Note Gomez in the lineup which means that we'll see if Lastings' outburst hurts the team. I'm surprised that Willie is going with the rookie over the vet, Shawn Green, even though it would mean a lefty-lefty match-up. METS SS Jose Reyes 2B Luis Castillo 3B David Wright CF Carlos Beltran LF Moises Alou 1B Carlos Delgado C Paul Lo Duca RF Carlos Gomez P John Maine
  8. Agreed. Which made it more upsetting when Edmonds and Pujols missed the last two games against the Phillies. And WMPena was out last night for Washington... and he's out again today. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/boxscore?gid=270923120
  9. The "nice job" referred to the expected pitching match-ups for the whole week. Nobody else has that. Who cares about the predictions?
  10. Nice job by Adam Rubin previewing the Mets week (including projected SPs): http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/mets/2007/09/23/2007-09-23_the_week_in_preview_how_will_mets_finish.html
  11. They played the Mets as if the games were the WS--which they should. Acta PH for hit pitcher in the 3d inning on Tuesday and used 8 pitchers. I put it on tonight and see the Nationals with a runner on 3d, no out, and they don't score. The Phillies just hit an IF grounder to the right side and the pitcher didn't cover.
  12. Perez 6 Castro 3 Wright 1
  13. Mota 2 Schoeneweis 2 Lo Duca 2 Martinez 1.5 Reyes 1 Delgado .5 Castillo .5 Alou .5
  14. Anderson 3 Wright 2 Alou 1.5 Lo Duca 1 Beltran 1
  15. Edgy--"That's fine, and I mostly agree, but it's largely the realm of theory. We're running out of pitching." True and true.
  16. G'night folks. Will anybody sleep well tonight?
  17. This was too much to ask of Sosa, pitching in clutch situtations in relief two nights in a row. He's not been bred as a reliever. The move in the 10th was whomever was out there, batter by batter. And if they ran out, then shame on Omar because he could have 5 more guys sitting out there. Yes, nobody else left is as good as Sosa but Sosa had a hard inning last night and another one tonight. Sele and Williams aren't that good, of course, but they're not tired and Sosa was.
  18. Edgy--I have mlb audio on the laptop and the DVR delayed for a few seconds... Wagner got up and sat down. They think it's his back. Feliciano and Sosa.
  19. And now the Phillies have the tying run on 3d with one out.
  20. ARGH! 6-5 Nats. 3 run homer for Werth.
