    I don't have the same animosity as most do toward Wayne. Maybe that's because he's not everybody else other than Howie... because almost everybody else other than Howie stinks. Charlie Slowes in DC is good (a Fordham grad) but most radio guys (and gals, Suzyn) are awful. Wayne tries hard, too hard but whenever I get frustrated with him, and wonder why he's there, I remember that he's the 2d best radio broadcaster in NY. I know--that's damning with faint praise but I don't hate the guy even though he's not great.

    Dickey with the CG. He deserved a better fate. Murphy's misplay lost the game. I know it was only his 2d game of the year at 3B but he should have at least knocked the ball down. Also: Dickey hitting into the 1st pitch DP with the bases loaded; Paulino and Bay looking at strike 3 w/runners at 2d and 3d; and, Bay possibly misplaying Jones' drive which resulted in the 1st run.

    I'm confused as to why O'Connor was sent down (lefty) and why Thayer (a mustachioed Parnell) was kept. I know that O'Connor had a few bad outings in a row but I wished that he was around to pitch to Fielder.

    I was hoping that the Mets would take college players as they are theoretically closer to the majors than HS players but Sandy and DiPodesta know more than I do, and they haven't screwed up a Mets draft yet, so I gotta trust them.
