Want to see Roger Angell's scorecard from Game 6? Here it is: http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/sportingscene/2011/10/roger-angells-game-six-scorecard.html

I didn't see past 4-4. When I went to bed, I was thinking that the level of play was even bad for an exhibition game. I would have loved to have seen the last few innings as they happened.

The Mets haven't released their 2012 Spring Training Schedule yet--they're usually one of the last to do so--but other teams have so Spring Training Online has pieced together some of the Mets schedule: http://springtrainingonline.com/features/master-schedule.htm Per Rubin, the Mets will close ST with a game at the MFYs. He said that the MFYs open their season in Tampa so the assumption is that this game will be in Florida. Last year, Terry said that he wanted to play different teams--I noticed that the Tigers are on the schedule this year.

So what? He's only available to the media when he's called a future Hall of Famer? He's a phenomenal player but he showed a lack of character the other night. Maybe he'll hit a home run tonight and talk to the press. Let's see what he does if he goes 0 for 4 and strikes out to end the game.

Texas. Certain reasons (specificity omitted to avoid a fight) don't match-up to LaRussa and "the best fans in baseball."

Edgy DC wrote: The real challenge is deciding whether to seriously consider Young and Batista. You asked for five. With only nine candidates, and one of them is Pelfrey who I ranked as 10 out of 9, you have to consider all nine to fill the five slots.

1--Dickey 2--Gee 3--Niese 4--Capuano 5--Batista 10--Pelfrey

1. Gee 2. Duda 3. Turner 4. Beato 5. Pridie

This is such a hard series to find a favorite because each team has negatives. The ones for St. Louis are obvious: LaRussa; the Herzog years; Y. Molina; and, "the best fans in baseball." Milwaukee's players seem smug/cocky/arrogant, especially Braun; N. Morgan's an idiot; and they're Selig's team. I put on the games and instinctively root against both teams.

Heyman will use any opportunity to give the Mets a shot, even if it has no basis in fact.

Good stuff here from "Ken Tremendous". If you don't want to read the whole thing, just go to the two footnotes: http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/7095696/the-collapse-red-sox

Why limit our animosity toward ESPN New York columnists to Ian O'Connor? Rob Parker is another Met hating hack: http://espn.go.com/new-york/mlb/story/_/id/7093851/boston-red-sox-wanted-new-york-yankees-ended-new-york-mets http://espn.go.com/new-york/mlb/story/_/id/7032587/new-york-mets-shortstop-jose-reyes-cheated-team-fans-exiting-season-finale-early

Remember the line in a Heyman column where some Red Sox spokesperson said something like "It's not like we're the Mets." That's true; Red Sox ownership is slimier.

This is the story that FK mentions: http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2011/10/12/red_sox_unity_dedication_dissolved_during_epic_late_season_collapse/

Thanks to Todd Pratt, Nelson Cruz makes history.

Did you notice that Ron Washington did not bunt with 1st and 2d, none out, at home, tie game... and his hitter singled.

Hey Braun, STFU. You're distracting your team and stay out of our business. http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/mets/brewers_star_to_reyes_come_to_milwaukee_khFED601Lz3y4HSkySaIMJ?utm_campaign=Post10&utm_source=Post10Alpha

Howard out for the entire first half of '12 and maybe the whole season, according to Rotoworld. Damn shame.

ALCS Rooting Interest Poll: Rangers vs. Tigers
bmfc1 replied to Benjamin Grimm's topic in New York Mets Talk
The team that beat the MFYs deserves our support. -
As a token of our gratitude, I propose that we put the full rooting interest of the mighty CPF behind the Tigers in the ALCS.

Did Girardi just panic?

An ESPN Chicago said that he was told that the White Sox had hired Robin Ventura and he replied "for what?"
