  1. You're right FK. They might as well concede the out and save us a few minutes.
  2. Way to go BG!
  3. Wright needs a day off and I really want to see Val P. in the lineup for once. Perhaps he'll take a pitch.
  4. Pathetic managing. And of late, a pathetic team.
  5. Or he could look at strike three. Bay couldn't even hit a fly ball last night to win the game. Terry is turning into Jerry which means an awful manager.
  6. NO BUNTING! Way to go Terry--you gave up 1 of your 3 outs and took the bat out of the hands of guy who could have hit a homerun.
  7. Way to work the count in the 8th. Double-parked?
  8. Dibble was awful--offensive awful--and I'm sure he's still awful on SiriusXM but I won't put that channel on while he's on.
  9. The good news is that the Mets held a press conference to decry bullying: Dave Howard, Chris Capuano, and some politicians. http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=19125093&partnerId=aw-5961002824091428724-1037 The bad news is that there is no mention of bullying as it impacts the LGBT community. Many other teams have made a "It Gets Better" video which specifically mentions LGBT youth. Where is the Mets "It Gets Better" video?
  10. "It's 8:00 in the Big Apple [as the camera pans Citi Field], Bob Carpenter, F.P. Santangelo with you on MASN 2 from Citi Field in New York. It's the Mets nothing, the Nationals nothing with 2 outs in the top of the 4th...." You're right FK but his act of "if that ball was a foot to the left" is insulting to anybody that knows the game. Granted, that's not a lot here but for us, it's hard to take.
  11. Great job FK. For Mets fans in DC, MLB's blackout rules means no GKR. Instead, we get Bob Carpenter who is a simpleton. You know how Gary Cohen and Howie Rose mostly speak at a high level and not down to us? Carpenter does the opposite. He treats his audience like it has never seen a baseball game before. (Although with the Nationals, there's a decent chance of that.) At the "top" of every hour, he does a time check--I wish I was kidding. I keep waiting for traffic and weather, too.
  12. MLB was probably scrambling yesterday so they didn't seem as moronic as they do so some genius must have thought that a former Met would save the day. Idiots.
  13. The hat decision was made by Joe Torre: DPLennon David Lennon by Buster_ESPN Torre, who made MLB decision, told AP that wanted teams to be "consistent" "Certainly it's not a lack of respect," he said of #mets ruling.
  14. That report was by Tom Renaldi and it was fantastic.
  15. andrewkeh Andrew Keh Josh Thole said the Mets aren't going wear the caps after all. He said MLB came down very hard on it.
  16. MLB is preventing the Mets from wearing the first responder hats tonight during the game. Good move Selig! The only reason that the game is on national TV, in prime time, is because of 9/11. You know that Bobby V. will spend a lot of time talking about how his Mets responded. Piazza will show up in the booth tonight, too. And yet, MLB issues this nonsensical order.
  17. Bad things happen when Parnell tries for the save--specifically, last Saturday and today.
  18. Thole should have let the ball hit him.
  19. metsguyinmichigan wrote: Parnell clearly cannot do this job at this point in his career. He might be the closer of the future, but they can't keep trotting him out there to blow saves left and right. This wasn't all his fault, but you're right. Right now, he doesn't have the stones to close.
  20. The list of bad decisions that Terry's made is far shorter than it was for his predecessor but this was atrocious.
  21. I guess Terry was afraid of Parnell walking the next batter w/the bases loaded but if you believe that then Parnell shouldn't be pitching. FU Terry.
  22. Fuck you Terry.
  23. Holy crap! Who expected that?
  24. LWFS: Wow, that's a tough one. Either is scary.
  25. Igarashi is a real test of my Mets fandom. "Igarashi" is Japanese for "Pelfrey".
