  1. Do you see a Gsellman and Lugo out there right now? Montero The Nibbler? Gilmartin who pitches as poorly as his girlfriend knows politics?

I'm not sure who you thought the team was going to get on a minor league deal that could have displaced the starting pitching depth they came to camp with. It's not about displacing starting depth, it's supplementing it by have pitchers at AAA who are ready to step in as necessary. It might mean Doug Fister, it might mean making a trade but if you look at the 51s roster, there don't appear to be good alternatives to Gilmartin and Montero.
  3. Why is Harper still in the game?

  5. Murphy bitching about every called strike against him showed intensity when he was a Met but now he's just a whiny, complaining, POS. Sit down and shut up. I can't wait for an ump to show some stones and kick him out of the game.
  6. Aw crap. Perhaps he'll consent to the MRI now. I have the radio feed on: Howie said that Terry and Sandy must be "seething" now.
  7. Quote from Dusty Baker: “Before the series started, they were reeling, but at the same time, a good-pitched game can stop your reeling,” Nationals Manager Dusty Baker said. “And they’re pulling out all the stops.” What stops were the Mets pulling out? https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/nationals/nationals-lose-again-to-the-mets/2017/04/29/d21d4da4-2c4a-11e7-a616-d7c8a68c1a66_story.html?utm_term=.888c57646cf6
  8. Sounds like Cabrera and d'Arnaud sit tomorrow. Perhaps Granderson as well?
  9. Edgy MD wrote: Should've double-switched Blevvy into the game, so he could stick around and face Murphy. Good call! Suit up, you can also coach third.
  10. MASN still bitching about the non-interference call. What a bunch of babies.
  11. Is something wrong with Walker? He looks awful at the plate.
  12. Good point. So many fringe major leaguers to choose from!
  13. Duda is back on Monday. I guess that Reynolds departs. I wouldn't mind Nimmo coming up and Granderson taking a break.
  14. Before I hit the mute button, FP "Mitchell Report" Santangelo called Terry's move with Edgin "the gutsiest move I've ever seen." EVER? In all of baseball? Or in life?
  15. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Well that was a shit ab from Cabrera This was the AB that I thought of in the top of the 9th. Bases loaded, 0 out, the pitcher had just walked a run in, 1-0 count, my son says "he's got to take a strike". I said "yeah, but..." and then he hit into the DP. Pros think that they know when to swing but that was the time not to. There were 4 kids, about 10, yelling their lungs out for WSH all night, about 3 rows behind me. As a mature adult, I ignored them but as I walked up the ramp I felt like yelling "IN YOUR FACE, PUNKS!" Cute young lady near me wearing a Santana shirt with a bf in a Harper jersey. She was into the Mets, high-fiving other Mets fans. I felt like asking her why she was with that loser. I saw a guy in a Marlon Byrd Mets tee. I take back everything I've said about Edgin. Until next time.
  16. After last night, Dusty Baker said that Terry made the wrong move because Harper is hitting .470 against lefties but it was the necessary move. Hey Dusty, go fuck yourself. Take care of your own team. See if they can win a playoff series. Mind your own business. And get your bratty kid away from home plate.
  17. I will be at tonight's game, section 113, head down, looking sad.

    Weather

I'm going on Friday night. I was looking forward to this game for months and all of a sudden, I wish it would rain.
  19. They treated Harvey like he was Sean Gilmartin. You don't do that to a young pitcher who is coming off major surgery. He's not the long man in the bullpen. Carlos Torres gets told at 10 AM "you're starting at 1", not Matt Harvey. Idiots.

  21. G-Fafif wrote: ESPN2 will simulcast MLBN's worst program, "Intentional Talk," the one with Kevin Millar and Chris Rose. Now I will have to avoid this awful show on two channels.
  22. Today, the Mets won't ruin our evening.
  23. From the baseball side, Dallas Braden, Doug Glanville and Raul Ibanez, too. Braden was prominently featured on a recent Sunday night game but now they can live without him.
  24. I would think that the Mets would welcome a rainout. The Braves don't return until September 25.
