It should be a garbage truck.

Since Montero was "skipped", how about sending him to the minors for 10 days so he can get a start. The MFYs did that today with Jordan Montgomery.
-
I hate to say it but I have more confidence in Rene Rivera's hitting than d'Arnaud's. Is Salas done? I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and blame it on overuse.

I'm guessing a day/night DH on August 25 (Friday). The August 26 game is 4:05 and that's locked in for FS1 so that would mean a "traditional" DH which WSH would want to avoid so they don't lose a gate. Except WSH has a night game in HOU on August 24.

The Mets will announce Terry's retirement after the penultimate game of the 2017 season (but word will get out during the game). Terry will have a chance to say goodbye to the players and the fans.

IGT 7/3 6:05 PM Mets vs. Nats Matz vs Strasburg

No Granderson again and with a short turnaround I would think he is doubtful for tomorrow. I couldn't find any on the 40-man who could replace him so perhaps they'll stall until Conforto comes back. First they came for the pitchers. Then they came for the infielders. Now they are coming for the outfielders. -
Good move blaming your fans, that'll endear you to them: http://nypost.com/2017/07/03/dodgers-star-blasts-own-fans-over-all-star-game-snubs/

Liked it a lot. Great action, great music, I didn't think it was too long and I didn't fall asleep.

I will be at Nationals Park on Monday night, section 113.

So much for the resurrection of Rafael Montero.

For what it's worth, WSH plays tonight in STL while the Mets have a day game so the Mets will be in DC before WSH even plays their game. And Scherzer is pitching tonight so the Mets won't see him this week.

Benjamin Grimm wrote: Great post by G-Fafif. I like his take on Sandy Alderson; it rings true to me. Strange that Tom Goodwin decided to use the gathering as a forum to promote masturbation. (Or did I misread something?) "Self-Pleasure Awareness Day" is on the future schedule. The spokesperson sitting in with Gary, Keith and Ron will be weird.

I didn't realize that I started this thread but feel like saying that I've come full circle on Tebow. There are more important things to be angry about. I've been taken in by all of the articles showing how caring and thoughtful he is to his fans and teammates. He draws more people to minor league games and that's good. The odds that he's taking ABs from a future Met are slim so if he surprises and succeeds, that's good. If he doesn't and they release him, it was at little cost. And if the Mets are out of it in September and Sandy adds him to the 40, calls him up, he draws a few fans to CF and Sandy uses that extra $ on a free agent, it will have been a good thing.

The Phillies have an off-day while the Mets play tonight in Miami. Does the CBA fix such inequities?
-
No Conforto. That's 4 days (including the off-day) since being hit on the hand or 4/10th of a DL stint. If he was getting better it would one thing but Terry said that it's getting worse so DL him and add a body. Why play down a player?

8.14 ERA 1.778 WHIP -2.3 WAR http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/c/colonba01.shtml Montero pitched a good game, Wheeler is coming back but it's tempting if ATL eats most of his salary.

This is the speed ranking page that Gary mentioned last night (the Mets 4th fastest runner is a catcher): https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/sprint_speed_leaderboard?year=2017&position=&team=NYM

"Looking for a team that's young, kinda hot. Something fun on the side. It's summer. We're young. And if God didn't want us to use these good looks, he wouldn't have given them to us. " Are we looking for a sidepiece because our main squeeze isn't satisfying us as much as usual?
