  1. Mickey should show some fire and get in the umpire's face after that half-inning but he won't.

  3. Yo went 2 for 2 tonight for the Ponies and left the game. I hope that means he is ready to be activated tomorrow night.
  4. Plus, no GKR for today and tomorrow.
  5. You don't trade deGrom and Noah, they are under k and have reasonable salaries, you build around them now. That means a solid bullpen, other good starters so that bullpen is rested and strong defense. Sandy did NONE of these. There seems to be one lefty reliever in the entire organization (that can't be true but it seems to be); he resigns Bruce when there were better options if he read the market properly he signs Vargas when Arrieta was there. These are just examples of his ineptitude. The only good thing about this season is that Sandy has been exposed and will not be back--what? Heyman says that Sandy is under k through 2019? Ah hell, the Wilpons aren't going to pay him not work and Ken Rosenthal said yesterday that Sandy is "owed" the opportunity to rebuild.

John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: no I'm talking about Shea Goodbye. they made it look like a children's book and it came and went pretty quickly. plus I dunno if a Chronicle of 2008 is something fans can stand to relive I got confused about which year the Mets crapped themselves you were referring to. It happens so often!
  7. No, he's not.
  8. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: well I hope it's not so you can shit on him if he doesn't succeed Wow. Ouch. Didn't expect that from that source. My point is what else do they have to lose? Why would I shit on him (I ass-ume that you're referring to the way I do with Rosario)? Smith hasn't been hyped this season and was, in my opinion, the subject of some derision from the GM in the off-season.
  9. Gonzalez is done. The Mets took the trash that 2 other teams discarded because he was cheap and--surprise!--he's not any good. Now that the season is on the verge of being over, call up "future star" Dom and let's see what he can do.
  10. Edgy MD wrote: If Bruce was running, the Mets likely have first and third. Instead, 6-4-3. Why are they so un-aggressive? It's a lot of pressure to run in New York.
  11. We heard: it's just precautionary, he could have pitched through it; he could go Tuesday (Orioles) but to be safe they'll wait for Sunday; he's on track for Sunday; and, he's ready to go on Sunday. And now: it's Seth Lugo vs. the MFYs on Sunday Night Baseball.
  12. I hate to be pessimistic because I'm usually a "glass is half full" kind of Mets fan but I'm having visions of Ramos with a 4 pitch walk to end one of these 3 games.
  13. I read "I'm Keith Hernandez". I enjoyed the first half, which switched between his growing up, his days in the minor leagues and his time on Long Island. The second half, which talks about the Cardinals, his father not letting go, and his opinions about today's game, is not as good. It ends with 1980 and a reference to cocaine so I would be interested in a sequel.

  15. I really tried to let it go and edited my comments, including the one with bad words, because we're all upset about our team but I will say, and only because of what you said, that what today's game was to us, you are to the CPF.

  17. The good news is that Wheeler was impressive and Bruce reached the warning track.
  18. Edgy MD wrote: Edgy MD wrote: The GM did not ridicule Dominic Smith all off-season. Part of it, most of it, Sandy didn't help his confidence so what's the damn difference? He's not helping this AWFUL team. The difference is the truth vs. not the truth. Wow. You missed the salient point: Rosario is still learning on the job while Acuna and G. Torres are instant stars (even Soto on WSH has been more impressive) and Smith is not a major leaguer at the moment (and there is no indication that he will be any time soon). I wish that I had your optimism.
  19. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: I'm blaming it all on Conforto. Man does he suck balls this year I wonder if we'll hear Conforto say at the end of the season "the injury bothered me all season and I should have taken more time to get ready."

  21. A stellar 5 minutes for Rosario. Other teams call up young players and they are immediate stars. The Mets "future stars" are a 1B who the GM ridicules all off-season and is still in the minors (behind a player who was released twice last off-season) and a SS who can't hit, can't stop swinging, can't steal a base and is only a above-average fielder. Way to go Sandy!
  22. In Round 19, the Mets drafted the son of the actor who played "Biff" in "Back to the Future"! http://www.fullertontitans.com/sports/m-basebl/2017-18/bios/wilson_tommy_6a68
  23. "Eliminated"
  24. Gene Rayburn: "The Mets are so bad" Audience: "HOW BAD ARE THEY?" Gene: "They've already been BLANKED for next season"
