The Mets had no alternative after he declined an assignment to the minors. But why? Did Boras tell him that he'll be picked up by another team and in the rotation within a week? He's on the verge of free agency so perhaps this would have been a good time to be a good soldier and pitch in the minors for awhile.

Our future stars: Rosario: not great to start--no bat, not as good in the field as expected, hopefully it's only just a slow start. Dom Smith: late one day in ST and he's damned to hell, mocked all winter by the GM, never had a chance to make the team and maybe passed by Peter Alonso. Braves future stars: Acuna: holy crap!

I took these pictures last year during my trip to Atlanta's new ballpark: https://photos.app.goo.gl/HM4R7hj4ENlMbnw62 Obviously they have a longer history but that doesn't mean that the Mets can't have a special exhibit dedicated to Tom Seaver, Willie, or any particular season. They should hire G-Fafif as the team historian. All it takes is effort, passion and some money (none of which the Mets management seems to have).
