  1. No trip to the Serengeti for the employee who is usually on the right? Visa issues?
  2. A very young, good-looking, staff.
  3. Todd is consoling himself from this unjust defeat by giving traffic reports on Twitter: [tweet:2gis9c0l] [/tweet:2gis9c0l]
  4. Is there a TCD HQ Holiday Party? If so, can we please see a picture or two?
  5. Anibal Sanchez from the Braves to the Nationals (so we'll still see him 15 times a season). Daniel Murphy to the Rockies.
  6. It's terrific. The Athletic is well worth the $.
  7. 9:29 AM? What the hell?
  8. Crap, it's unanimous so far for Rivera: [tweet:12b22xho] [/tweet:12b22xho] And as far as we're concerned "Doc" means Gooden.
  9. Is this also the "Best Smile" round?
  10. What a jackass: https://www.miaminewtimes.com/news/miami-marlins-david-samson-brags-about-12-billion-team-sale-10956381

  12. Does the TCD have a sponsorship deal with that clothing store?
  13. That one's a classic.
  14. A surprising amount of Met content in the new Jack Ryan series on Netflix. Without giving too much away, A Mets-Nats game is featured. It's on Amazon Prime and LS is correct as the Mets are mentioned in the 1st episode and Mets fans are shown in the 8th (finale) episode. In the 1st episode: "Dr. Ryan. Tough loss for your O's last night." "Could be worse. Could be a Mets fan." Me: have you checked the standings, Dr. Ryan? In the 8th, without spoiling, someone gets killed while wearing a Nationals cap and it is glorious.

  16. I'll take a great action cover over a generic smiling, cover.
  17. Great guy, lousy fielder: https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/j/jonesad01.shtml#all_standard_fielding
  18. Where did the TCD team take that picture? It's a long way from the subway and Sweden!
  19. I went with Todd. Sweep is a better picture but it's too small and shared with the MFYs and the NHL.

  23. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Maldonado is 31 with career-high 235 batting average, coming to ShitHitty Field. I'd much prefer Grandal if they are going to sign a catcher. I don't disagree but Maldonado is a good fielder and it would be nice to have one behind the plate when Syndergaard is on the mound instead of seeing the usual "Bugs Bunny"-type conga line around the bases.
  24. Welcome to the Winter Meetings at Mandalay Bay! It's a bit of walk to the heart of the strip but you're not leaving because BVW could do something at any time! Here is John Harper's "bold prediction" of BVW's Winter Meeting haul: Mets Sign A.J. Pollock, Andrew Miller, Martin Maldonado The romance is on between Brodie Van Wagenen and the Wilpons, meaning he'll have freedom to raise the payroll, perhaps to the $170-$180 million level. And these three free agents would fill holes nicely. Two of them come with injury concerns, but as a right-handed-hitting CF, Pollock is a perfect fit, and the addition of Edwin Diaz gives the Mets room to gamble on Miller's dominance when healthy. Finally, Maldonado makes sense as a defense-first catcher for a team whose success will depend mostly on its starting pitching. https://www.sny.tv/mets/news/here-are-10-bold-winter-meetings-predictions-including-mets-signing-few-free-agents/301595724 BVW can do his pressers in front of the fake Statue of Liberty next door at New York, New York.
