Gerrit Cole to the MFYs. Good. Keep him out of the NL.

Good analysis by Edgy as to what makes the Newsday cover, which should have been iconic, the 2d choice in this round. -
We Hate the Phillies and Zack Wheeler 2020
bmfc1 replied to Johnny Lunchbucket's topic in New York Mets Talk
Helluva job BVW. One of the reasons that he traded for Diaz is to block the Phillies but here, he made no effort (that we heard of) to keep Wheeler after he became a FA. He also could have traded Wheeler last season and got more than the 80th pick in the draft (counter: the Mets challenged for the WC spot and we had a fun two months). I'm awaiting a quote from BVW saying "this is why we acquired Stroman". -

It's chilly outside, they need jackets.

Martino speculated that the Mets might have to take the final year of Braun's contract as well. Fantastic--the racist (who CHOKED in the Wild Card Game) and the cheater.

"Ho Ho Ho Chi Minh, 'Ain't It Grand' Is Gonna Win!"

The Irishman, Netflix, Scorsese (fantastic) has the main character watching a Phillies game and you can see Gregg Jefferies. A Twitter sleuth figured out the game and it was against the Mets from September 22, 1996.

Let's stay focused on the good stuff, OK?

Name one specific thing (one) that is Met-related that you are thankful for today. Given the spirit of the day, no sarcasm is allowed! 1. Howie Rose. Howie is one of the best radio announcers in the game and he's all ours. Howie is a pleasure to listen to and makes every game better.

"65 of the Daily News covers included an exclamation point (57%), as did 35 from the Post (31.5%) and 14 from Newsday (15%)". That's some next-level analysis!!!

While the Mets are hiring coaches, other teams continue to acquire players. The Brewers traded the BASTARD who made the critical error that lead to WSH scoring the go-ahead run in the Wild Card game. It wasn't all his fault, it was mostly that SOB Josh Hader. You can see that I'm over it. Anyway, here's the trade: https://twitter.com/MLB/status/1199730650523275264https://twitter.com/MLB/status/1199730650523275264

=G-Fafif post_id=27024 time=1574453105 user_id=55] Perhaps McCann can give Ramos some defensive Pointers.
-
I'm seeing buzz on Twitter that the Mets are talking with the White Sox (of the newly minted Grandal) about acquiring their newly superfluous C James McCann. He had a great season (3.8 WAR) after a lousy one (-0.5 WAR) and would be a solid backup to Ramos. http://www.espn.com/mlb/player/stats/_/id/32046/james-mccannhttp://www.espn.com/mlb/player/stats/_/id/32046/james-mccann https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/m/mccanja02-field.shtmlhttps://www.baseball-reference.com/players/m/mccanja02-field.shtml

=smg58 post_id=26940 time=1574362457 user_id=62] Good--he's out of the league. Now Cole needs to go to the Mets, Rendon to the Rangers and Strasburg anywhere else.

There was talk yesterday that Gagnon was headed to a Korean league team was enabled the Mets to take him off the 40-man and protect an additional player. Jacob Rahme is still on the 40-man which I don't understand.

Other than "Bro", I want to vote for all of them.
