  1. What if Beltran made that statement in person, other than the last line, the day after the report was issued? Would we be at this point today?
  2. Good. I was looking forward to watching him manage but they didn't need the distraction during ST and then during the season. Was he going to have credibility with the players? The focus is supposed to be on the team, not your tainted manager who doesn't have a track record to support the aggravation. "Hey Pete! did Beltran get you the sign?" How was he supposed to lead with what he did in Houston on everyone's mind? They didn't need it, not after he was the only player mentioned in the Report. This was the right move and it should have been done two days ago. The fallout from the report sucks for us and for the Mets. HOU and BOS fans can still be happy with their Championships. We got nothing.
  3. My Beltran watch says that it's 15:15 on the dot.
  4. What do the Derby Presenters do between announcements? Do they fly to Stockholm to help hang the bunting and prepare for the ceremonies?
  5. =smg58 post_id=29718 time=1579051073 user_id=62] =G-Fafif post_id=29714 time=1579050151 user_id=55] Josh Donaldson brings his rain to the Twin Cities.
  6. The Astros lost their 1st 2 draft picks for this draft and the next draft. They were supposed to pick 30th (last) in the 1st round so the 2d round starts one pick earlier this year (the Mets pick 19th).
  7. Carlos Beltran is the only player mentioned in the report. And he's all ours!
  8. There goes part of the haul for Plawecki. Haggerty played a lot in early ST games, wearing #99 without his name on the jersey. Best of luck to him in Seattle.
  9. The Texas Rangers get a really good guy and their fans won't care where he's from. https://twitter.com/mlbtraderumors/status/1216444789505347585https://twitter.com/mlbtraderumors/status/1216444789505347585

He's pitching for Phil Regan's DR team so I'm guessing that Regan told Brodie something positive. https://twitter.com/mikemayerMMO/status/1216188740676222979https://twitter.com/mikemayerMMO/status/1216188740676222979
  11. Bob and Pete, together again.
  12. Athlon Sports has 25 MLB covers. Here's the one that you want: https://www.amglifestylestore.com/images/VARIANT/icon/5996.jpg> https://www.amglifestylestore.com/p-2262-athlon-sports-baseball-2020.aspxhttps://www.amglifestylestore.com/p-2262-athlon-sports-baseball-2020.aspx
  13. The known votes so far have Jeter in and Walker just missing. https://twitter.com/Porlos411/status/1215506401000329217https://twitter.com/Porlos411/status/1215506401000329217

  15. Johneswhy Fargas is a new name. He has stolen a lot of bases in the minors (50 SB in AA last year with 23 CS). https://www.fangraphs.com/players/johneshwy-fargas/sa737941/stats?position=OFhttps://www.fangraphs.com/players/johneshwy-fargas/sa737941/stats?position=OF https://twitter.com/Jacob_Resnick/status/1215305098219466752https://twitter.com/Jacob_Resnick/status/1215305098219466752
  16. The people who will play in the last 3 innings of the 1st two weeks of Spring Training games, your 2020 invitees, including Tim Tebow: https://twitter.com/AnthonyDiComo/status/1215299624749142021https://twitter.com/AnthonyDiComo/status/1215299624749142021 Here's a good look at the invitees: https://metsinsider.mlblogs.com/mets-announce-spring-training-invites-89b54c2c97ffhttps://metsinsider.mlblogs.com/mets-announce-spring-training-invites-89b54c2c97ff
  17. Edgy, I think that they had to release him because of the number of years he was in the minors. Something like that. I'm hoping that he'll be resigned to a minor league k with an invitation to ST. Hager has never had an AB in the majors: https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=hager-000jakhttps://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=hager-000jak Hopefully, Hager won't be Horrible. He has received a ST invite. He's this Jake Hager: https://twitter.com/Jw_Hager/status/1214667782828089344https://twitter.com/Jw_Hager/status/1214667782828089344 Not this Jake Hager: https://twitter.com/RealJakeHagerhttps://twitter.com/RealJakeHager
  18. Arctic Blast is a better-composed cover as nothing is covering Pete (just as he likes it!) so I surprised myself by giving it my vote.
  19. =G-Fafif post_id=29419 time=1578451041 user_id=55] Robinson Chirinos signs with the Rangers.
  20. The Baseball Prospectus has Jake on the cover: https://twitter.com/cdgoldstein/status/1214269188933660672/photo/1https://twitter.com/cdgoldstein/status/1214269188933660672/photo/1

  22. I would vote for one player and that player would be feted alone: Larry Walker. Schilling can go F himself despite his greatness. Bonds, Sosa and Clemens took themselves out of the running. Jeter can wait a year like most people. He doesn't deserve to be first ballot, only entry.
  23. The picture of Noah is beautiful. The only thing wrong with it from our perspective is that the jockey's helmet intrudes a little bit.
  24. Cordell isn't terrible, some pop, some speed. I can see him being useful at some point. He was once traded straight-up for Anthony Swarzak. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ryan_Cordellhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ryan_Cordell https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/c/cordery01.shtmlhttps://www.baseball-reference.com/players/c/cordery01.shtml He copied Jeff McNeil last season: https://www.mlb.com/video/cordell-leaps-into-net-for-catchhttps://www.mlb.com/video/cordell-leaps-into-net-for-catch Here's McNeil: https://www.sny.tv/video/34000001445/jeff-mcneil-gets-nothing-but-nethttps://www.sny.tv/video/34000001445/jeff-mcneil-gets-nothing-but-net
  25. Here's an objective look (as opposed to Tom Boswell's latest column which isn't even worth a link) at the state of the DWCMFN infield. If Donaldson goes elsewhere ("hey Josh, Minnesota has this great mall, go there!"), they could start the season with some combination of Zimmerman/Kendrick/Castro/Cabrera (just signed)/Adams (not signed)/Dozier/C. Kieboom and even Todd Frazier, around with the excellent Trea Turner. https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2020/01/03/nats-starlin-castro-agree-deal-where-he-plays-could-depend-josh-donaldson/https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2020/01/03/nats-starlin-castro-agree-deal-where-he-plays-could-depend-josh-donaldson/
