  1. If Nido makes a good throw that play doesn't happen. Thanks a lot Nido.
  2. We know that Nido isn't on the team for his offense and we just saw that he isn't on the team for his defense so does he have a sparkling personality?
  3. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: This game turned on Alonso's bedshot of a pinch hitting appearance. The McNeil DP also, but that was hardly a failure. Wasted good pitching and good fielding. Rojas needs to get these guys out of this winning allergy I'd add Ramos' K in the 1st inning with the bases loaded and McNeil hitting into a DP with 1st and 2d. When you are this bad there are many shitty options to choose from.
  4. Sorry, no going out for ass, only curbside delivery.
  5. A terrible performance by a terrible team filled with terrible baseball players who were placed on the team by a terrible General Manager who was selected by a terrible human being who knows nothing about baseball.
  6. Ramos looks as bad as Nido which means he hits like garbage.
  7. I don't think that he forgot, I think that he thought it was a ball and the ump got around to calling it a strike as it was halfway to the backstop and Conforto's mind went elsewhere.
  8. If I have this correctly, Cabrera wanted to return to the Mets but Brodie wanted Lowrie (a former client) so Cabrera went to Texas where he was released mid-season. When the Mets called, he declined because they didn't want him in the winter so he went to Washington (the Mets signed Joe Panik) and became a champion.
  9. At season's end, it might be time for the Mets to sever ties with Matz: https://twitter.com/TimBritton/status/1292983022501928962https://twitter.com/TimBritton/status/1292983022501928962
  10. I was looking forward to seeing him pitch for the Mets but I don't blame him. He's coming off an injury and he doesn't need to get hurt again going into free agency.

  12. Marcus Stroman has opted out for the season. He's a FA after 2020. https://twitter.com/Joelsherman1/status/1292900180728131589https://twitter.com/Joelsherman1/status/1292900180728131589
  13. Marcus Stroman has opted out.
  14. Lockett has 2 "t's", show some respecTT! He also had a lower back injury on 7/16. Oswalt/Kilome/Szapucki are on the 40-man. Erasmo Ramirez, another candidate, is not. This is almost the latest (it doesn't include Ali Sanchez at C with Wacha on the IL): https://twitter.com/Jacob_Resnick/status/1291867667251499014/photo/1https://twitter.com/Jacob_Resnick/status/1291867667251499014/photo/1
  15. Today's BAL-WSH game has been suspended as the field is unplayable following the failure of the ground crew to get the tarp down in a timely manner. It's in the 6th inning but apparently when a ground crew messes up the game is suspended and not ended (they'll resume on Friday in Charm City). https://twitter.com/CharlieRicker24/status/1292542561186467845https://twitter.com/CharlieRicker24/status/1292542561186467845
  16. It's the first of four games against some of the worst people in Washington, DC that don't work in the White House or the Senate. The players whined about a lack of attention in Spring Training (they share a facility with HOU which was obviously a big story) and their fans have not stopped. It's also their first road games of this weird season: they were supposed to go to MIA but that trip was postponed and they were supposed to go to Toronto but they don't want Americans there (which is putting a crimp in my younger son's social life as he is dating a nice young lady from the Toronto area) so the Blue Jays were the "home team" for two games in the AA-level ballpark known as Nationals Park. I hope that their Amtrak from Union Station to Penn Station was with many people talking loudly on their cell phones. Patrick Corbin goes for WSH (LHP, https://www.mlb.com/player/patrick-corbin-571578https://www.mlb.com/player/patrick-corbin-571578). Corbin is from Clay, NY. Where is Clay? There are at least two of us that might know. Per Wikipedia: "Clay is a town in Onondaga County, New York, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 58,206, making it Syracuse's largest suburb. The town was named after American attorney and statesman Henry Clay. Clay is north of Syracuse, New York." Steven Matz will be on the mound for the Mets (LHP, https://www.mlb.com/player/steven-matz-571927https://www.mlb.com/player/steven-matz-571927). This is a re-match of WSH's 5-3 win last Tuesday. Neither pitcher distinguished himself but Matz was worse. Corbin gave up 3 ER and 8 H in 5 2/3 innings (HR by Conforto). Matz gave up 5 ER and 7 H in 3 IP (HRs by Howie Kendrick and Josh Harrison). Matz's inconsistency is consistently maddening. The Mets need him to mature and step up right now with injuries to Syndergaard, Stroman, and Wacha depleting the rotation.
  17. Luis is going to have some thinking to do when Cano is activated.
  18. The ump missed strike three and now all hell is breaking loose.
  19. Perhaps replays should only be called for by the umps on vacation, I mean in the review booth.
  20. I was sooooooo bored reading that book and it was about WILLIE MAYS!
  21. That book is bad. There are better books about Willie.
  22. How about a frigging flyball with a runner on 3B and less than 2 outs? Dom failed on Friday and just now but he's not the only one. Meanwhile, I thought that this was going to be Rosario's breakout season.
  23. Michael Wacha to the DL, Ali Sanchez ("Prince Ali! Fabulous he!") returns from Brooklyn.
  24. Also, Nationals fans harrassed Sean Dootlittle so much last night on Twitter that he deactivated his account. This is Sean Doolittle, one of the best people in the game who helped them winning the Series. Nationals fans suck even more than I thought.
  25. Sean Gilmartin is back in the majors, this time with Tampa. You know his wife. I hope that he gets booed every time they say his name.
