  2. Harvey did not miss the bus to the airport for the flight to LA: [fimg=450:2d7z6sui]http://i.imgur.com/EDwWMM4.png[/fimg:2d7z6sui] Grandy seems confident: [fimg=450:2d7z6sui]http://i.imgur.com/R6HLV0U.png[/fimg:2d7z6sui]
  3. After 6 months of working towards a common goal (especially on a razor-thin margin in this case), I don't have a problem with a celebration for any sort for movement to the next level. Still, this should only be the first step, so celebrate accordingly. I'm not sure why the Astros had to move the party out to the Yanqui pitching mound.

  5. I think these two teams may be the most dangerous in the NL. I really don't want a part of either one of them. Gun to my head...I would root for the Bucs.
  6. The Mets posted pics of this morning's workout on social media and Harvey was in attendance. Traffic must have been lighter this morning. Seriously, though, I find it really hard to get my undies in a bundle over this one.
  7. Edgy MD wrote: David Wright, when asked about Harvey, said, You'll have to ask Matt. I'm concerned about the guys that are here...We're rolling. We're clicking. Another teammate told the Daily News, "Well. I can't say I am happy about it. I guess we have to wait to see what happened. I'm probably reading between the lines too much, but I'd say that sounds like two guys who are a little bit done with having your back. Well, there was a sliver of time when no one on the team knew why he was not there/late. These questions could have been asked during that sliver. It's hard to get hung up on traffic as the excuse. I thought he had just reached his mandatory workout limit.
  8. You're right...forgot about the lack of 1B options.
  9. Yeah, I would sit Grandy and Duda against Kershaw. The numbers just don't lead to any advantage to having them in there. I agree with keeping Muffy in and batting him lower. Still, I can't see Terry sitting any of those guys.
  10. Yup, Grandy performed at a high level nearly every day all season. He took the lead off role and ran with it. He's my Mets MVP with deGrom a close second.
  11. At least we don't have to spend all week hearing about the Dodger Stadium shadows.
  12. [fimg=400:z6sq9gl0]https://cbswashington.files.wordpress.com/2015/03/sports-illustrated-cover1.jpg[/fimg:z6sq9gl0] 83 wins after this cover should get everyone fired.

  14. I began mine on October 1. I have grown a weak beard between 10/1 and 4/1 the past few years, but this is the first time I will be calling it a "Playoff Beard".
  15. Congrats, again, mm. Somehow I looked up at the end of the season and found I finished 5th (!).
  16. seawolf17 wrote: Headed to Cubs-Brewers in Milwaukee tonight. Buzzed Monk on FB in hopes he can make it. Alas, I'm home watching the kiddo tonight. Would love to go if I could, though.
  17. I second the sweep concept. Though, I'm OK with Bart if Matz can't go.
  18. I mulled a trip to both NYC and LA and the purchase of scalped tix and see one of the games. My biggest problem is not knowing yet who is going to have home field advantage in that series and being able to take time off and book travel on the right dates ahead of time. The longer it remains up in the air, the less likely I will go. I am 50/50 on a trip to Chicago or St. Louis if an NLCS opportunity comes up.
  19. Mets' magic number for home field advantage in the NLDS: 4
  20. Edgy MD wrote: Anyhow, we gots to get past the Bridegrooms first. Agreed...wasn't meaning to look past anyone. I had just been musing that with the 7 game season sweep of the Reds and how well the Mets had played against the East and West, the Cubs and Pirates were really the only thorns in the Mets' side over the course of the whole year. I have a feeling in another week or so, the national talking heads are going to start trying to debunk the Mets by claiming that they only beat up on a weak NL East this season. Beat the East they did, but they also held their own against anyone not named the Cubs or Pirates, too.
  21. Not necessarily a worry, so I'll put it here. The Mets against the NL Central this season minus the Cubs and Bucs: 13-6 The Mets against everyone in MLB minus the Cubs and Bucs: 89-53 (.627!) I can't decide if I'm scared of the Cubs and Bucs or not.
  22. I'll be vacationing in a secluded cabin in the woods for the next two nights...which makes me pretty sure the Mets will clinch while I am gone. I'm hoping for an ounce of data coverage up there so I can tune in via iPad on Saturday afternoon. I'm hoping even more that I return here on Sunday celebrating a division champion.
  23. I trust him as much as Clippard right now. I think he could be a valuable tool in the pen for the next couple of years.
  24. Edgy with the BOC!
