  1. Is there any rhyme or reason to how this works anymore? Seems to me it used to be that rivals played rivals and then rotated divisions for the remainder of the games. Now each team plays their rival plus just random teams from any old division in the opposite league. I figured based on the Mets IL schedule that this must be based on how you finished the year prior...similar to how the NFL used to do it. But seeing how the Dodgers don't play any playoff teams from last year I guess I just don't get it.
  2. Perez 4 Wright 1 Gotay 1 Green 1 Chavez 1 Reyes 1 Smith 1
  3. I'm really starting to like watching Perez pitch...my excitement is now starting to outweigh my apprehension.
  4. Through 3 he now has 6 Ks and 1 BB...and David has an error...high throw.
  5. Gotay with an RBI single in the 2nd. Green scores to tie.
  6. Marlins up early after one inning. Perez allows a run in the top, Sanchez escapes trouble after walking 2 in the bottom. 1-0 Fish.
  7. ="Johnny Dickshot"]Wright can and will bounce back but maybe not until he stops getting himself into an 0-2 count in every AB. Now I'm no Bill Robinson, but maybe what Wright needs is to be more aggressive, at least until pitchers learn to be more careful with him, then relax and wait for your pitch. So my advice to DW would be: Go up there looking for something to whack. Agreed. Since early last year it seems to me that the scouting report for Wright has been for the opposition to throw a strike on the first pitch, which Wright will almost always take for strike one. If his slump continues, just watch how many times this happens. I'd have to look up the splits, but I would bet he's rarely ahead in the count early. David should be looking for that first pitch over the plate and smacking it.
  8. Glavine 3 Beltran 1 Chavez 1 Easley 1 Franco 1 Green 1 Reyes 1 Sele 1
  9. Maine 5 Beltran 2 Franco 1 Schoeneweis 1 Wagner 1
  10. Castro won one in 2003 with the Marlins. Sele was on the 2002 Angels. Green and Delgado both made the briefest of appearances with the 1993 Blue Jays...but I don't know if they actually got the hardware.
  11. 5 earned runs without getting an out in Game 4 of the 2006 NLCS...I remember making fun of him during that outing. He also pitched two-thirds of an inning on April 4th of this year vs. the Mets, gave up the Reyes and Beltran blasts in the same inning...I made fun of him then, too. In all seriousness, I wish he were still around to make fun of. RIP

  13. Metsblog has Ducky to the DL with bursitis and Chan Ho getting tonight's start.
  14. Better late than never.
  15. C'mon David, hit one out!
  16. Yahtzee! Easy with a lead off double in the 12th. Castro in to pinch hit?
  17. Beltran had to run back a little, but once he got under it, it was pretty routine.
  18. He turned his ankle running the bases I believe.

No...I didn't think he stood up for his team enough last year with the umps. It seems he's had a little more fire in his belly this season so far. He doesn't need to be Pinella, but I'd like to see a manager show a little emotion every once in a while.

  21. Delgado spoils our token hit. Williams has a one hit shutout through six AND he's thrown more balls than strikes. This is becoming embarrassing.
  22. That Zimmerman can play some D.
  23. The Mets are reaally good at popouts.
  24. Fiddlecripes! Mets load the bases in the 6th w/ one out and can't get the tying run home.
  25. What are the odds of no IGT being started for 4 innings and then 2 of us posting it at the same time?
