  3. Truly weird.

  5. I remember Lastings getting suspended in the last week of the season while his team was in a pennant race. I remember him coming back from his suspension and allegedly playing a part in inciting a bench clearing brawl in the second to the last game of the season. (Which may or may not have inspired a last place team to play a little harder on the last day of the season...not that it mattered with Glavine's performance.) I remember Milledge being given the starting RF job in August 2007 over Green and then Green outplaying him offensively for the remainder of the season. I don't remember any of Milledge's 2007 home runs putting the Mets ahead in any game. They seemed to come when the Mets were way up or way behind. Yet to his credit, I believe his RISP and "clutch" stats were pretty good. I remember him making some amazing outfield catches this past season, and then thinking that if he were playing the ball better that they might have been routine.
  6. I dislike, but not to the point where I hate. I would have liked to see Milledge as part of a bigger package, but don't think his value was that high.
  7. Delgado's coming up on his last year. SC=29.654
  8. The closest I came to a major leaguer having my surname was Kelly Stinnett...which is still a couple of letters off. Definitely my favorite thing about him.
  9. Looks like a lot of miles between May 22nd and June 23rd. 3 trips coast to coast between June 1st and the 16th.
  10. Cordero looks to be on the way to Cincinnati. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3124583
  11. From the Brewers' board: I asked: Would there have been any takers if I would have proposed that deal before it happened? Answer: Nope. General consensus here is that we hoped to get a little bit more, especially because we had some leverage without having a replacement for Estrada inked. Most here think Estrada for Mota + our expected FA signing of Jason Kendall is a rather lateral move.
  12. Yeah, no breakdown of votes yet. Rollins would have been 4th on my list.

    Today?

If I had a vote it would go to Wright.
  14. My impression of Turnbow is that when he's on he's money. But when he's not, he is downright unwatchable. They usually come in streaks and he is definitely more on than he's not. From a Mets point of view if he were to hit one of those streaks of 6 - 10 appearances in a row where he struggles it could get ugly...especially if Mota and Shoeneweis weren't able to pick up the slack. A move like this would increase my desire to move Pelfrey to the pen for a year where I think he would be pretty good one inning at a time.
  15. Well, in Milwaukee I offered: Milledge/Humber for Sheets Pelfrey/Gomez for Sheets Humber/Gomez for Sheets The early response is Sheets/Turnbow for Milledge/Heilman. Any thoughts?
  16. Contact with the Brewers has been made. http://brewersfandemonium.yuku.com/topic/9357
  17. DocTee wrote: Richie Weeks. Really? ="Valadius"]Yovani Gallardo. I'd bet he's quite untouchable. The way I see the problem is a lot of what we have to offer is very similar to what Milwaukee already has. I figured I could pry away Sheets because he is in his walk year and may look for more money than the Brewers are willing to pay in '09.
  18. I'm getting ready to tackle the Brewer's board over the weekend. I'm planning on inquiring about Sheets. Any of their other batters or pitchers intrigue anyone?
  19. Centerfield wrote: I would want to keep Pelfrey, Milledge, Humber and Gomez in that order. None of them are untouchable. In fact, if we got a good player in return, I probably wouldn't lament the loss of any of them. Agreed.
