  1. Great outing by Heilman.
  2. 2 run dinger by Howard. We need this game 'cause the Phillies don't seem to be looking back.
  3. I find I don't hate Schoeneweis as much as I did a couple of months ago. Too bad he probably won't make more than 2 pitches in this game.

  5. We'll be a little late tonight. The grounds are wet. Rain delay theatre:

    Moises

    Alou's sexiest photo.
  8. Booing is for losers. Wait until they lose.
  9. By allowing themselves to be eliminated, the Braves helped the Mets take one step closer to elimination hell.
  10. This is no longer about heart. This is no longer about sacking up. This is no longer about being behind the 8 ball. There is no doubt in my mind that every player on this team knows exactly where it stands. This is the playoffs and the losers go home. The situation is now about courage and this team is playing like it is in fear of losing. This team looks tired and defeated, yet every player needs every ounce of focus and energy. Has this team been playing badly? Hell, yes, they have. But this team does have the fundamental talent to crawl over these second division teams into the next round. Regardless of the play over the past 2 weeks, are these men not reigning division champions? Have they not been a first place team for months? Its time to start playing like it, because up until now its all been shiny and expensive wrapping paper. Now its time to find out whats inside the box. I look to Pedro, Oliver, John and Tom. The offense is erratic and the bullpen is useless. It is up to these four men to decide the fate of the team for 2007. They are all capable and have all been put into this type of situation before. They now need to pickup their team. The division is still well within reach, as is home field advantage and a couple of off days for rest before the next round begins. We are still in the drivers seat and only need to play like it. No more teases, no more excuses, no more losses. Just do what you do.
  11. And the Tigers are out, meaning the AL half of the bracket is set with the Angels, Indians, Red Sox and Yankees all into the postseason. The NL is still up in the air with 8 teams alive and no spots clinched.
  12. Way to go Moises. I want more.
  13. Way to go Carlos. C'mon guys, I want more.

  15. No it was a 5-4 win over the Phils at Shea. His 2 hitter vs. ARZ came in his 4th start. I just hope the stadium doesn't turn on him if he pulls an "Alay Soler debut" in his first inning. It might be hard to get back on track if that happens.
  17. I really don't have a clear cut favorite to tell you the truth. I am really enjoying the fact that the NL is producing a bunch of new young superstars instead of the same boring Bonds/Pujols race it seems we've had for the past decade. For me the race is between, in no particular order: Fielder, Holliday and Wright with Rollins being a not as close 4th. I think all of them have valid arguments for being MVP. IMO, and I'm no Tony Gwynn, I think Wright as the least arguments against him. That being said, I wouldn't be disappointed if any of Fielder, Holliday or Wright ended up winning.
  18. I welcome the Mets to my hometown and kindly ask them to get the fuck out.
  19. Seattle and the Dodgers are indeed out. The Tigers look for a miracle to keep from being the last AL team eliminated in the regular season.
  20. I heard on the radio as I was driving home that they were down 10-3 in the ninth. I turned on the game right as Reyes hit his 2nd HR. Close.
  21. Valadius wrote: Tony Gwynn gave his predictions the other day for the NL MVP: 1. Prince Fielder 2. Matt Holliday 3. Chase Utley/Jimmy Rollins I'd put more stock in those predictions if a) Gwynn had ever won an MVP and his kid didn't play for the Brewers.
  22. Bad, bad loss. Our pitching is fucking feeble. Really disappointing.
  23. Williams actually increased his ERA for the year from 21.60 to 22.85. I hate baseball.
  24. We need to chip away some more this inning.
  25. Mets chase Chico with a run and some baserunners in the 6th. Conine (check that, Green) to face Rivera with 2 on 1 out. Rally time... Wake up, got another day to get through now Got another man to see Got to call him on the telephone Got to find a piece of paper Sit down, got another letter to write Think Ill got to get the letter just right Theres a ringing on the telephone Oh no, got to write a little later No such day as tomorrow, only one two three go!
