  1. How and why did we pass on Sugar Bear Daniels??
  2. Don't forget the riveting 'Mr. Baseball' starring Tom Selleck's mustache (and co-starring Tom Selleck)! Broken down, old Yankee (ha!) banished to Japan re-discovers his swing as he re-discovers himself... /sniff uN_H71V6kZY
  3. Shea's a great character in this thing, too. Just edging out Stockard Channing girl for 'Best Supporting Role'.
  4. Some of the finest stuff I've ever read on this forum. When you need em, the Mets can be a really fine metaphor for life going all to shit, can't they?
  5. Sucks. Wondering if he ripped it when he got on the mound to prove to the Mets he's not a lazy ass. Whatever he decides, he should change his facial hair. It's time.
  6. Anyone interested? Last minute, I know, but if ya are, I'll have my bro send the details if we don't fill it between now & then. Good crew, the lot of em. Other pertinent details... NL-only auction, like I said. Standard 5x5, weekly lineup changes, and it's on ESPN. Draft tonight 10PM Eastern. Thx, yall.
  7. Based on nothing but my Don Zimmer-like intuition, I feel like Jordany's gonna get popped for PEDs one day.
  8. Real nice. Would also be cool if from Darling's page, I could click on the '15' to see all the other 15's, or click on the 44 to see the rest of those guys, etc. That something that might be in the works?
  9. A very natural marriage, for sure. Congrats, both. Which one of you lovlies gets added to the Wifey Watch page?
  10. Farmer Ted wrote: I blame it on Duda and his fucking bear hugs. Too much affection there. Yeah, screw rest and Advil. When Duda hugs you, you need the Prez, FEMA, and the Red Cross just to repair your intercoastals.
  11. Mike Puma reporting that David Wright has strained his 'incosteral', which I don't believe is a thing. Thanks to my 2+ years of community college, I feel certain he means this instead, but nevertheless reports Wright will rest 3-5 days and calls Opening Day 'in question'. Stuff inside us that can get hurt:
  12. Hey, hey, what about the Dominicans? Do they celebrate too much and need to chill? I've haven't seen a pitch of the WBC, but the idea of hot-doggy celebrations isn't bugging me at all. #morestrikeoutfistpumping #istillloveujosereyes
  13. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Didn't he also say that he's been playing all along with this stiffness? It kind of sounds like something I had with my back a few years ago. It would be stiff and achy if I was inactive; I'd feel it if I had been sitting too long and I'd have trouble standing upright after getting out of a chair. But as I'd move around I would feel perfectly fine and I wouldn't even remember that I was injured. It eventually resolved itself. I think it took a couple of weeks. Hopefully this is something similar, and rest or applied heat or something will make it go away. Reading it's pain in the ribs now, not the back. Either way, D-dub going back to NY to get em checked out.
  14. Piazza sounds like Grand Torino Eastwood after the Italy/DR game, complaining about the DR's penchant for celebrating ('enhanced theatrics'), and this Nick Punto slide on Cano. I agree on the slide (don't think it was dirty), but lighten up, ya grumpy shit. It's baseball. It's a game. It's supposed to be fun.
  15. metirish wrote: metsguyinmichigan wrote: Heymen is incredible! There were SIX Jeter references in that story! SIX!!! That's Heyman being restrained. When I control+F on "Jeter", I get 9 hits. And he didn't even tag Jetes at the end of the story. The damn thing's practically about him.
  16. ...this time making public overtures for Chipper Jones. How perfect would that be on every level if they Yanks could coax Chipper out of retirement? He'd be a perfect, perfect Yankee (clean-shaven, smiley, old, broken, overpaid) and would piss off the entirety of the Atlanta fan base by tainting the back of his baseball card with a little NY(A) on the very last line after 19 straight ATL's. It's that last part that would keep it from happening, but I'd love to read the quotes from his press conference. "My hearts, of course, in Atlanta, but wearing these pinstripes is every kid's dream..." No one would win in this scenario except for me.
  17. Are my memories of Beltran's tenure different than everyone else's?
  18. Phenomenal. Netflix is streaming it. [youtube:355xsyqc]dUt349BSxZk[/youtube:355xsyqc]
  19. Saw this on Netflix today and dug it. Crazy-talented kid shortstops, shady agents, age and identity drama... all under the foreboding watch of MLB. This compelling documentary, narrated by John Leguizamo and executive produced by Boston Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine, is a gritty and never before seen look inside the world of Major League Baseball (MLB) training camps in the Dominican Republic. Miguel Angel and Jean Carlos are two of the top prospects and they are both about to turn 16, which means they can be signed to an MLB farm team and ultimately move up to the majors. Ballplayer: Pelotero filmmakers Ross Finkel, Trevor Martin and Jonathan Paley take you inside this never before seen world for an up close and personal look at the cost of the American dream. Trailer: i9jfhRyoljA
  20. New security guard Mike Piazza needs to chill.
  21. "Major League Dad" sounds like a shitty PG movie starring Tim Allen.
  22. Any word on the dollar amount? Per MLBTradeRumors.com: "The Mets announced they have officially signed free agent right-hander Brandon Lyon to a one-year deal. Meister Sports Management represents Lyon, who will earn a base salary of between $750-$900K, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. The total value of the deal will be worth $2.4MM if Lyon hits his incentive bonuses". Seems a good price to me. And if he hits some good 'closery' numbers and earns every penny, he'd probably be well worth it.

The attorney handling the PED allegations is named Barry Boss. And representing me in my murder defense will be my attorney, AJ Simpson.
