    How bout this one, from that same exchange? I need to see if they name names. I'm sure the accusers were promised anonymity. I do not think that late middle-aged women who decide they were groped 40 years before deserve the same protection as minors. Particularly when there are no court-imposed gag orders. Or charges of any kind. They can toss my good name out there while alleging a crime that was never charged? Fuck that. He references Sandusky another time, too, but doesn't say that he's not a creep like him, only that he's different and more important than him. Disgusting and an egomaniac. I am a lot bigger to the Daily News than Sandusky ever was to Penn State. But I don't have 19 years of heinous molestations involving children in my care that were covered up at many institutional levels.

    How fucked is it that he was seemingly (allegedly) busted more than once, confronted on it, and was basically just told to knock it off?? I don't know if the Penn State scandal/abuse has empowered victims but there seems to have been a snowball effect since then. Yes. From his niece (one of the accusers) in the article: Blanchet, now a prosecutor in Atlantic City, and the others said they were speaking out now because the alleged sexual assaults and cover-up at Pennsylvania State University brought back painful memories and reminded them of the secrecy that shrouded their own assaults.

On Niese, I just read this by Mets blogger Patrick Flood and what do yall make of this head-scratcher at the end? Of the 1,719 pitchers who have thrown at least 350 innings since the end of World War II, Jon Niese has the the 4th highest BABIP. He�s ranked number 4 out of 1,719. I�m not sure if it�s the kind of thing that can be written off as bad luck and poor defenders. While I believe Niese�s career ERA is going to come down, I don�t think it�s going to come down that far. 4th unluckiest SOB in 60 years? Or just not all that great at pitching baseballs?

    Michael Vick making millions does not mean he's changed or grown up. If anything, he sounds like the same old arsehole to me. Staying on point, though, it sounds like as long as he's not sodomizing a passed-out girl and lying to cops about it while he's getting a pivotal out for a team you root for in a meaningful game, then it's just 'history' and you have no probs separating it. Gotcha.

    A few years ago the Clippers signed Ruben Patterson. Decent 3, good defender, whatever. He'd previously pled guilty to trying to rape a woman who was his children's nanny. Second chances and all that, but I was disgusted that asshole was on the team I supported, and I felt zero conflict in tuning the franchise out and changing my LA Clipper entertainment budget from 'a little once in a while' to 'jack shit'.     I fast-forwarded that article, but back when I used to watch baseball, I'd Tivo the games because I'd still be working for the 4PM west coast start times. I effin loved zooming through the commercials and even when I was off work, I started DVR'ing it and would start like a half hour late, so I could zip through just the same. FF'ing between pitches is st00pid & lame, but I'm apparently a big, flag-waving, card-carrying DVR fag.
