  1. I expect him to suck. Hopefully for someone else.
  2. Alfonzo
  3. While wasting time on sporcle, I noticed that the Los Angeles Dodgers Opening Day Lineup in 1991 had a very Met-ly look: CF Brett Butler 2B Juan Samuel RF Darryl Strawberry 1B Eddie Murray LF Kal Daniels 3B Lenny Harris C Mike Scioscia SS Alfredo Griffin P Tim Belcher That's five of nine. My challenge to you (and I don't know if there is an answer to this) scour all box scores you can get your hands on and get me an opponents' starting lineup that has five or more one-time Mets.

  5. I don't know why, but I am really optimistic about Capuano. I think he will have a great season. ERA of low 4's, to high 3's, 12-14 wins.
  6. How much of a wild card is Beltran? He could be injured and miss the whole season, he could play the whole season and hit .260 with single-digit HR's, or he could win the NL MVP. I guess this is true of all ballplayers, but if Beltran did any of these it would only be mildly surprising.
  7. Tony Clark
  8. Richard Hidalgo
  9. David Segui.
  10. Ryan?
  11. This marks the second time (the first being Zambrano) that the Mets picked up a pitcher and I mixed him up with a guy much better than the one we got.
  12. Keef.
  13. Rickey
  14. Alou's report being widely disregarded for having neglected to say "Simon says".
  15. Are these things generally with or without kids?
  16. And if you can't sell them, I'll take Box 1 or 2.
  17. Before you give them away (and it may be too late I know), why not try craigslisting them for a nominal price? $20 a box or something.

  19. Edgy DC wrote: Somehow I missed when all of you discussed this and decided to call him "Tracksuit". Makes me wonder if there isn't some secret forum where all of you guys are discussing these inside jokes...
  20. I appreciate the efforts to find a silver lining here, and maybe in a few years, this will bite the Phils in the ass, but for the next two or three years, this sucks royally for the Mets. Thank goodness for the Wild Card.
  21. You're welcome.
  22. I'm with Luke Scott on this gun thing. In fact, I think everyone should be packing heat. Starting first and foremost with the deer that Luke is shooting at. Hunting is the only sport I know where one team has guns and the other team doesn't realize they're playing. I also completely agree with his justification of shooting deer because they have no natural predator. Other things without natural predators: Yankees. Yankee fans. Republicans. Justin Bieber.
  23. Dress as a what? Fuck no...
  24. He will never make up for it in my eyes. More than sucking, his refusal to go to the minors was an unforgivable offense for me.
