  1. Torres not fooling anyone tonight.
  2. Tejada sucks at bunting. I don't know how many years it will take for Terry to learn this. BIFL. I don't know how many years it will take for Terry to learn this. Tejada should be out of this game and Flores should have stayed in.
  3. By the way, three subs and a spot starter? Give us a chance Terry.
  4. Why do you pitch to Stanton there? Idiotic. Mets need to stop making errors. Wins or not, has been some bad baseball these Mets have been playing.
  5. Edgy MD wrote: Being an .800 team on a 10-game winning streak has it's historical advantages. One of them is that, with every win, the Mets erase some of the red on their historical ledger, pushing back the date further to which they can claim being historically a .500 team. Right now, as you might guess, the claim of decency takes the team back to the Joe Torre era, as true consistency did not arrive until his reign fell. Last night's win, specifically advances Mets decency backwards all the way to game 27 of the 1979 season, on May the 10th. That game, the last of a four-game losing streak, saw staff ace Craig Swan hammered for eight runs in 2 1/3 innings on the way to a 14-1 loss to Los Angeles at Dodger Stadium. Ugly things happened on West Coast trips back then. A sixth-inning homer by Lee Mazzilli accounted for all the Mets scoring that night. That was far more than offset by the homers the Mets yielded to Ron Cey, Bill Russell, and Steve Yeager. Congratulations, Wilmer and Lucas. You not only redeemed Dillon Gee last night, but you redeemed Craig Swan. With the right amount of pluck and luck, the Mets have a good chance to wipe 1979 clean off the ledger this season. [fimg=750]http://www.ultimatemets.com/scorecard_graph.php?game=2796&font=1[/fimg] There is a mistake in the first inning of that scorecard right? Lopes scored on the Cey HR and not a single right?
  6. The fact that this is even being discussed makes me angry. Fuck the DH. Professional sports sre crazy. Football: "Despite insurmountable evidence to the contrary we don't think roided up guys flying headfirst into each other is dangerous at all." Baseball: "We cannot continually put our pitchers in danger by asking them to jog to first. It is inhumane."
  7. This is how you do it. Play .500 on the road, and go undefeated at home.
  8. I don't miss them since I think their time is past, but I liked the black uniforms at the time. I also liked the drop shadow on the other jerseys. I think the blue uniforms are a cool alternative though. Would love to see the end of the orange dot.
  9. Hey guys! Did you see that? Pretty good catch right? Wait, why is no one talking about my catch? WTF?
  10. I thought it was because of Burkhardt too, but even if you just judge him on his own performance, he's still pretty bad. I mean, the guy is just so dorky.
  11. Dillon Gee shaves his beard and has a solid start. Murphy and Nieuwenheis should take note. Parnell too.

  13. That's two Bo's you've posted in this thread. Second one is prettier.
  14. BEST RECORD IN BASEBALL.
  15. Not very good.
  16. Untucked shirt company makes most annoying commercial ever.
  17. On pace to win 129.6 games!
  18. These developments are very pleasing to me!
  19. Niese 4 Granderson 2 Campbell 1 Plawecki 1 Flores 1 ATorres 1
  20. MY ONLY THOUGHT ON THIS GAME IS THAT WE ARE FUCKING AWESOME.
  21. As giddy as I am about this start (and I am oh so freakin' giddy), I don't see them running away like they did in 86 (or even '06) simply because the Nats are so talented. Keep it up Mets!
  22. STOP WALKING PEOPLE IN FRONT OF FREEMAN.
  23. Bat the kid second. Let's see what he's got.
  24. I have really high hopes for Conforto and Herrera. I am hoping that d'Arnaud, Duda, Conforto and Herrera will be the core of the best run in Mets history. Flores and Lagares too. Oh, and they have a little bit of pitching to go with it.
