    Also. Sean Manaea’s WHIP is around 1.80. So definitely not a candidate to take Peterson’s spot.

    Also. Today will be the Mets 12th game of the season. They have yet to have a 7:10 pm start. I would think that has to be a record.

    Relatively important start for Peterson coming off his last one. Two bad starts and you start thinking that last years Peterson is back.

    Also, Sewald’s pitch selection was interesting. shook off the catcher twice, went with the fastball, then missed the target (high and out of the zone) and went middle middle.

    That’s important. Also Mendoza said afterwards that Loaisiga is a ground ball pitcher, and obviously Vientos is double play candidate. Ballsy calls on both.

    Edgy not the only one making good calls today. I didn’t agree with PH young for Vientos. Didn’t agree with PH Mauricio for Taylor. Both worked out great. also didn’t agree with PH Torrens on Sunday. Mendoza on a great streak. Me not so much.

    Marcus Semien is 7 for 15 with a HR, 2B and 4 RBI since this thread started.

    Mets won. Braves lost. Philly lost. Marlins won, but at least they beat the Yankees.

    Yikes. Did he really try stealing 2nd down 3 runs in the ninth? There is some dumb baseball being played in SF. was questioning bringing the IF in against Torrens, but that move is at lease justifiable.

    Also. I went back and looked at the 2025 Mets’ Sunday record. Wasn’t quite as bad as I posted, but they were 2-7 over the last 9 Sundays in 2025.

    I guess no one has told Brock/Brandon the IGT rules? on the other hand. We’ve had those rules in place for years and haven’t won a thing so maybe we boot them like we did Pete. Anyway, back to the Mets. Have to wait for JCL to officially declare, but today feels like a big game.
