I tend to like O'Connor, Rubin and Kieran Darcy. They have a pretty strong douche contingent in Wally, Marchand, and Coutinho, though.

Wasn't Heyman one of the guys beating the "Mets have no farm system" drum last year? I seem to recall him saying it or implying it on 'FAN. Kind of makes his first sentence a bit disingenuous. But I'm all for our system getting some mainstream love.

Maybe Omar knew something? Well, Omar certainly knew that the driving in Miami is "crazy" as Flores says. Or at least he should have, after what happened in July 2006. Come to think of it, Omar probably should have warned him about all those cab trips.

I'm sure there are others, but The Big Hurt is the first power guy I can remember where his ability to take a walk was seen as a positive and not as a liability (of course I wasn't around for Ruth, et al). He shattered the notions of "you're a power guy, if its close, you gotta swing" and showed people that there's usually nothing wrong with taking pitches and taking a walk.

The Mets have 11 players on their 40-man roster who either switch-hit or bat lefty, and that group combined for 26 homers from the left side in 2,634 at-bats last year. From the Sherman article in his argument for Branyan. Wow. I am not sure I really want Branyan, but wow.

Is the stadium in Minny going to be connected at all to the downtown SkyWalk? I know the Target Center is, but the Metrodome wasn't. And the new stadium is right near the Target Center. The SkyWalk rocks. You can leave your hotel to go to a T-Wolves game a mile away and never throw on a jacket.
