I'd say 70/30 yes...Trying to make a tag in that split second an ump has does not help. Well I would hope the ump is looking at the foot on the bag, despite the tag attempt.
  2. Pretty clear to me his foot was on the bag. Blown call, even if Willie didn't handle it correctly.
  3. Are there no takers? I can let you know on Friday if I can do it. But if you have three takers before me, don't wait for me.
  4. Where is the Keith burger stand?
  5. Thank you. I was hoping to see how big of a contrast there is in RF. between the two. The Teixeira HR off Dickey in NYS basically wouldn't have reached the warning track in Citi. Wow.
  6. Thanks for the chartwork. What is interesting to me in the comparison to CBP is that CBP is relatively symmetrical, while appearing rather asymmetrical to the naked eye, if that makes any sense. Watching a game from Philly, the field looks non-cookie-cutter when in fact there aren't too many cut outs, MO zones, etc. Meaning I guess you don't need multiple wall heights and fences jutting in and out every 10 feet to give the park some "quirks". By chance do you have a chart comparison of Citi to NYS?
  7. The Shrimp Po' Boy at Catch of the Day has been my favorite to this point. I also like the pulled pork at Blue Smoke. I was disappointed in the Shackago Dog (I remember the one in Madison Square Park being so much better).
  8. I wish health to Gary and peace to his family. I really hesitate to talk about the retired # thing at the risk of being insensitive, but there are others who deserve their number up on the wall before Kid.
  9. Not sure I agree with Ron that Dickey deserved that last guy.
  10. There's that "source familiar with the Mets thinking" again.
  11. He's been out more than two weeks, and now they realize he needs to wear a protective boot?

  15. OK, I'll be the insensitive prick: 3-7 days?
  16. Lou Whitaker, Tigers.

  18. My big Maz memory against the Mets came in '85 (or maybe early '86). As a Pirate at Three Rivers Stadium, he represented the tying run on third with one out in the 9th. A fly ball brought him home with the winning run...until the Mets appealed and he was called out for leaving early. I believe the Mets went on to win that one.
  19. The catcher looked mighty confused after running the guy back to third. And what is the batter doing getting caught off first? Would have been nice to have an mic on Wally for that one.
  20. Ceetar wrote: Sadly, my main memory of Mazzilli was him whining to the umpires for an obstruction/interference call in the World Series and getting it. That was a regular season game at Shea...part of a two stadium day/night double header. A day remembered for: Gooden starting a game at Shea against the Mets; and Piazza getting beaned.
  21. The Shea countdown pieces--all of them. They were so perfect while the Mets real countdown sucked so bad.
  22. I'll argue against the first game for Reyes "looking bad", because I think they lose without his diving play on ARod.
  23. bmfc1 wrote: Guys! just gave us the most inane, worthless, report of his career. That's quite a feat. We can call tonight's Winning Pitcher River Avenue Dickey.
  24. Piazza before Payton, I believe. I can't remember if there was an MFY homer before that though.
