  1. Castillo. But then again, putting someone's face on a milk carton symbolizes that there are people who might actually want to find him.

  3. OK, but neither Easley, Castillo, Church, Tatis, nor Endy had 500+ plate appearances. So overall as a team they were good, but it's a little unfair to list those guys when comparing with Adam Dunn.
  4. He could pass for an older, heavier Alejandro Pena.
  5. I've seen him a number of times the last few weeks and asked the same question.
  6. Sac fly by Milledge made it 3-2
  7. As a ticketholder for tonight, I hope they can make an announcement of a postponement as soon as possible.
  8. Paging Dr. Ian Malcolm.

A thankless job for sure , I would like to know what happened last night with Murphy. My impression is that Murphy missed a sign, but Jerry was irked with Aguayo for not going and talking to him.

What is funny to me about this is every time we see Marlon look shaky going after a fly ball (which is every time one is hit his way) announcers always tell us that he is "not familiar with the outfield." yet when injuries open up his original position, he gets zero consideration.
  11. Where have you gone Cookie Rojas?
  12. If healthy: Schneider and Easley. If not: Cancel and Martinez.
  13. Benjamin Grimm wrote: If the Mets survive this weekend and make the playoffs, the composition of their post-season roster is going to be very interesting. Do you take Easley? Is he healthy enough? If not, you have to bring either Argenis Reyes or Ramon Martinez. I'd opt for Ramon. Who's in the bullpen? Jerry will suddenly have to deal with an 8-man pen (I assume) rather than the 35 guys he has out there right now. Heilman has been buried lately. Would he get bumped in favor of a guy like Parnell? Marlon Anderson? Nick Evans? Pedro Martinez? None of these guys would be sure things either, though I think Evans would make it and there aren't any viable alternatives for Pedro. (And he did reasonably okay last night.) I think Cancel's ability to hit off the bench certainly warrants some consideration for a roster spot. I would leave Marlon off the roster; and I would activate Easley. If he can't go, RMartinez gets my nod over AReyes. Evans almost has to be there.
  14. He'll do what he did at Shea: give his regulars some at bats, and have a look at some of his other guys. I was somewhat surprised that Soto, Ramirez, and Lee all had the same night off, and I would be surprised if that were the case again. That first baseman yesterday certainly showed he deserved another look.
  15. 2 hour Survivor Premiere. Plus I think we get a new Office as well. You know, in case you're looking for other alternatives.
  16. There's a Loud Jacket Hall of Fame?
  17. Note to self: do not open "Postseason Odds from Baseball Prospectus" Thread in September 2009.
  18. Given the fact that teh Cubs will probably not want to come back on Mondya, I think they will do all they can to get tonight's game in.
  19. And there is the icing on the cake. Why do I do this to myself
  20. And the Philllies dropped two in a row to the Braves. It was all right there for them. Now who knows with Pedro tomorrow.
  21. Oh, fuck. They make it look easy to score when they get a baserunner.
  22. Two out single and SB.
  23. More Schaefer for Ramon!!!
  24. This is just horrendous. You only get so many opportunities. And this bullpen is only going to hold the Cubs down for so long. The game has been there for the taking. Grab it, Mets.
