  2. Brandon's third start was the best of the season so far: 4.1IP 2H 1R 1ER 2BB 6K dropping his AAA ERA to 5.23. Later
  3. Matt followed up his first start with another strong one for St. Lucie: 3.2IP, 2H, 0BB, 3K and his ERA is still 0.00 Later
  4. That may have been what it looked like when Michael Jordan tried to play baseball. Later
  5. =Gwreck post_id=189477 time=1744434654 user_id=56] Gary now talking about seeing Blondie (RIP Clem Burke) at Max's Kansas City and how they wouldn't go on until 2:30 AM…
  6. They say the balls are flying out of that Sac Stadium. I cannot confirm or deny that, based on I have no clucking clue. Here are the dimensions: Left field: 330 feet (101 m) Center field: 403 feet (123 m) Right field: 325 feet (99 m) That looks pretty standard. Maybe there's a "jetstream" blowing toward the outfield, like in the old SF Seals Stadium. Or, lousy pitching. Later

  9. In all the sports mentioned, the teams with the worst records get to draft earlier than the teams with better records. And in all of those sports, there are only so may top tier prospects each year. So that is the only direct relationship I can see between a winning record and the potential for prospect success. Other factors, such as the quality of scouting, player development, coaching and injuries IMO have greater impact on whether a given player will be successful.. Later

Edgy MD wrote: The Mets, somehow crossing off all their interleague matchups early in the season, play for the first time in their history in the Indomitable City, aka The City of Trees — the suddenly major-league city that is Sacramento. Or, as WFAN's Steve Sommers called it, "Sacratomato". Look, ma, I'm a major league city. Later
  12. Todd was already guessed. I think Dave Magadan was a #2 pick. BTW - there's only one place where I've heard of cowtipping. Did you attend UCONN? Later
  13. From Ron Bloomberg's Facebook page: Today marks the 52nd Anniversary to the day I messed up the game of baseball forever! How true. It was the first step on the slippery slope downward for the sport we love. Later
