  3. For the first time it may have happened, did one Bob Miller ever replace the other Bob Miller on the early Mets? Later
  4. Mets Guy in Michigan wrote: He waited until the third paragraph? We're making progress. Woodward, Bernstein and Capote didn't keep writing about the same crimes over and over. And he probably thinks of himself among them. Too bad Police Gazette isn't still around. He would have been a perfect writer for them. Later
  5. What Would Jeter Do? Later (I hat myself for that.)
  6. Terry mentioned on the post game press conference that Kevin may be the player called up while Travis is on the DL. He added that if he is, he will play regularly and not be a platoon player. No formal word yet. Later
  7. Frayed Knot wrote: I almost went back to hat-ting baseball again, but if one of our Torreses doesn't get you we got another one waiting in the wings who will. And now I'm going to have a drink. That close shave was all your fault. Please don't mess with the format of these thread titles. non-home indeed. Later
  8. Fman99 wrote: I watched innings 2-9 of this game but could not post because my house is infested with [crossout]termites[/crossout] in-laws. Where do you live? I believe that in some states, in-laws preventing you from posting on the CPF is considered cause for justifiable homicide. Consult a Lawyer if you're not sure. Later

  18. themetfairy wrote: About the Roll Call Hopefully it's now a thing of the past. Good to hear that. Learning how to root for our team by copying the Bleacher Creatures is like learning music by listening to Yoko Ono singing. Later
  19. Edgy MD wrote: A lot of posts I've seen over the last two days declaring that it's 1986 all over again because Harvey had "the balls" to hit Utley. Its a tad premature IMO. While the crowd and excitement were there for the first two games of the series, there would have to have been more than 21,000 in the park last night to convince me that the magic is really (coming) back. But I'm looking forward to being convinced. Later
  20. Mr. Met is showing his class by giving them the fist instead of just one finger. Later
  21. I wonder if Julio Franco wants to sign a minor league deal - just in case. Later
  22. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I wasn't familiar with this "roll call" thing. It sounds pretty stupid. And if it's a Yankee thing, then it is definitely stupid. A brief, but accurate, description. Later

  24. Oh, I get THAT part. I liked him when he broadcast for the Nets, and now his broadcasts are like Forrest Gump's box of chocolates - full of surprises. But, hearing Ma and Pa Pinstripe on WFAN is still jarring, even though this is their second year there. Later
  25. I can't get WOR anywhere near my house - even in the car radio at night. After so many years of WFAN being the flagship station of the Mets, hearing Jon Sterlings's voice doing an MFY game is still like hearing an Ayatolla at a Bar Mitzvah. So I listen to music when I drive home from work. Later
