Sources say lots of misters did No. 2 in the MFY bathroom. BAM! Thanks for reminding me. I haven't insulted Jeter for a while. But you did a good job for me. Later
  2. I've remembered Beany and Cecil far longer than I'll probably remember Darrell. Later
  3. Frayed Knot wrote: Are you kidding? In the '90s I was so out of fashion that when I tried to buy a 'Members Only' jacket they refused to sell me one because I wasn't a member!! BOOOOO! Old joke. (For those of us who are old enough to remember it) Later
  4. An entire thread with pole dancers in the title and we haven't heard from Fmann? Somebody please check to make sure he's ok. Later
  5. Great work, Ben. Greatly appreciated. Later
  6. Frayed Knot wrote: What's second place, TWO Pintos? Or is it a set of steak knives? Nope. Its a copy of the Tabloid Cover Derby home game (Ben said they would be available shortly) and a box of Rice-A-Roni, the San Francisco treat. Why wasn't Cespedes there to accept the honor in person? Later

  8. Lefty Specialist wrote: Oh. My. God. Looks like a party at Rock Hudson's house. Was Jim Neighbors the angel in the centerfold? Later
  9. Yep. The $110 price sure speaks for itself. It screams, "You spent me for WHAT?" Later
  10. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Poll runs till Tue Feb 02, 2016 6:33 am Which time zone? Later

  12. Backs up Monell at Las Vegas, and takes over the full time job there when Monell is called to the majors. Later
  13. Year end cuppa'. 8 games, 7 IP. But he is impressive enough all year to merit serious consideration for the a season-long spot in the Majors in 2017. His ERA will more closely resemble a Northeast Area Code than last year's Saturnian one. Later
  14. Ceetar wrote: Robles will throw 70+ innings and be virtually unhittable. He's my pick in this category, too. Later
  15. 66 games, 63 IP, 37 holds, 12 saves, 1.18 WHIP. Later
  16. Here's another list: http://prospect361.com/prospects/2016-top-100-prospects/ It has Matz lower, but includes Nimmo. Later
  17. They will be worn proudly by the Columbia Fireflies: https://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/columbia-fireflies-unveil-glow-in-the-dark-uniforms-and-caps-022819908.html Later

    Lineup

Putting David #2 will make him concentrate on making contact, to get on base or move (a) runner(s) along. He will be able to ease into the hard swings (needed for power hitting lower in the lineup) and give his back time to get stronger. It will probably be the best place for him when the season starts. Later
  19. What I bolded. Megdal has been a one trick pony, and now he admits that trick doesn't matter to the fans any more. Later
  20. Gee, Howie waited to the second paragraph to mention Madoff. Here's the key sentence to me: If the Mets owners are taking in enough money to siphon off a bunch of it for their still-enormous debts, but still fielding a competitive baseball team financially, it really doesn't matter to fans, nor is it much of a story. So, Howie, you finally realized it. Now, STFU and go find another story line. Later
  21. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Centerfield wrote: They're not going to have a catcher? Nice! We're going to win this thing easy! That just means that they'll have a lot of passed balls. Didn't they just draft Hobie Landrith to prevent that? Later
  22. Jeff Wilpon: The Mets are now a destination where players want to be http://sports.yahoo.com/news/jeff-wilpon-mets-destination-now-where-players-want-214103762--mlb.html;_ylt=A0LEV14bl6lWKA4A5tdXNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTByMjB0aG5zBGNvbG8DYmYxBHBvcwMxBHZ0aWQDBHNlYwNzYw-- Later
  23. It'll be interesting to watch Jim Henderson in Spring Training. In 2013 with Milwaukee, he posted a 2.70 ERA with 75 K's in 60 IP (a 1.4 WAR season). Don't know what happened the last few years, maybe injuries? He was at three levels last year, which makes me think he was rehabbing. Later
  24. dgwphotography wrote: I agree with the Murph Newsday cover. It's very clean, and looks more like a magazine cover than a newspaper cover When I see a guy wearing a suit to a baseball game, I expect him to be wearing a straw hat, too. And maybe even a bow tie. And suspenders under his jacket. (OK, so we couldn't see them if he was wearing them) Later
  25. Benjamin Grimm wrote: At least, until you decide that he's a vampire who needs a stake driven through his heart. Oh. He's a vampire all right. Has he played any day games recently? Nothing wrong with that. Some of my favorite movie characters are vampires. It has nothing to do with how I feel about him as a member of the roster. Later
