What are you hoping for? That David Wright returns and wins the MVP in his last season? No. I want to see him retire, so his fans can remember him at his best. Later
Sadly, my adoptee Wuilmer Becerra still hasn't found his stroke and I fear his time with the organization is about to expire. He's mired around .250 and the hoped for power has not emerged. Of course, the FLS is not a place you want to send a prospect to see if he has power, but still ... nada. Later
Edgy MD wrote: I have a different idea of grace than yours. I saw nothing graceless in Willie Mays' retirement. Retire gracefully is an old expression, not meant to be taken literally and not the direct opposite of graceless. I meant it to mean with all honors due him. In his last year, Willie was a mere shadow of the magnificent player I had seen when he came up in New York. Actually, that player WAS the epitome of grace and his skills had decreased dramatically by the time he played that last year with the Mets. Do you want to see that happen to David? Later
Rockin' Doc wrote: I definitely am pulling for Wright to make it back to the Mets. I am very skeptical that he will ever be able be a contributor at the MLB level again. I truly hope that Wright proves me wrong. Exactly. His fans should not have memories of a once-great at the end of career etched into their memories like we had with Willie Mays. He should retire gracefully. Maybe not an endless Jeter fan fellatiation but maybe just a loving hug and kiss on the cheek; a Lou Gehrig moment. Later
Well, I guess they'll need something to attract fans in September, since they've announced they won't be bringing up Alonso. You know - a move that might actually be beneficial for the future. Later

That was the worst attempt at humor I've read [crossout:hz7l0hdu]in a very long time[/crossout:hz7l0hdu] ever. If a Bleacher Creature could write, they couldn't come up with anything that bad. Later
The Mission Impossible team is again led by Tom Cruise, in the 6th installment of this franchise. They try to find stolen plutonium, enough to make three nuclear weapons, while battling the CIA, MI-6, and an international conspiracy. Later

There's been a lot of excitement about the Kingsport ® team this year. First round draft picks Jarred Kelenic (CF) and Mark Vientos (3B) play there. But everyone seems to be overlooking a 19 year old kid named Luis Santana, who is playing second and hitting cleanup. Signed out of the Dominican Republic, this is his first year playing in the US. He's short, stocky and can hit. http://www.milb.com/player/index.jsp?sid=milb&player_id=670919#/career/R/hitting/2018/ALL I'm channeling my love for Brian Cole (RIP) in this kid. Here's a candidate that checks off a lot of boxes. 1) Front Office administrative experience 2) MLB/ Commissioner's office experience. 3) "Minority" candidate (TWO EEO boxes checked) 4) Fred Wilpon's love for everything Dodgers 5) Highly respected 6) Probably will take a low salary to just get a chance 7) Has been discussed here before Only thing is, not much experience in the player part of the job. A candidate worthy of serious consideration? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kim_Ng Discuss among yourselves. Later
