  1. They must have not wanted Vargas to continue embarrassing himself in front of a major league paying crowd. Later
  2. Edgy MD wrote: McNeil making a play that made it look like his arm would fall off. Flashback. Announcers used to comment about how when a player makes a great fielding play, he "always seems to lead off the next inning". Later
  3. I guess if and when Lucas Duda hit 'em, he really hit 'em. Later
  4. They had an old timer's day of sorts to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their "great 1988 team". (I'll pause while you barf) Two folks on that team were absent. Derek F'n Jeter sent a message that he couldn't attend because he wanted to be there at his daughter's first birthday party. (I gotta' give him that one.) Joe Girardi (a reserve catcher on that team) was sent several invitations, and turned them all down. Tee hee Later
  5. Tim Kurkjian is a cretinous little shit. And those are his good points. Michael Wilbon is from Chicago, so he doesn't know anything about baseball. I never liked Tom McCarthy, and thought he was a heretic. He now demonstrates I was right. In case anyone has noticed, those guys piss me off. Later

  7. seawolf17 wrote: The internet says we've called up the first Seawolf Met: lefty Daniel Zamora. And he's pitching tonight. How did they make roster space for him? Who did they move? How? (DFA, Release, DL, magic, other) Inquiring minds want to know. Later

  12. Its now 6-2 bad guys, on a steal of home. Do you think game 1 pissed them off? Later
  13. Kong never named a successor, and they're down 5-2 (Matz against Eflin) and still in trouble in the second. C'mon Kase, get your butt back here. They need your mojo. Later
  14. A Boy Named Seo wrote: Wonder how much 40 runs in 2 games boosts our season numbers towards the illusion of "average"? Darn compilers. Later
  15. Edgy MD wrote: If this game isn't a 25-4 final, I'll be ... well, I'll probably be OK. But I'd like a 25-4 final. They now have 24. If they score one more run, I'm letting Edgy pick my Lottery numbers. Later

  17. d'Kong76 wrote: Messing with IGT karma here; if the Mets hold on here, can someome please take this baton and start a game 2 thread for me? Who thinks they got game? Show of hands, please. Kong has to tap someone on the virtual shoulder to keep the mojo goin'. Later
  18. Letting Oswalt bat makes me think Mickey might keep him in for at least another inning. Later

  20. I wonder what JJ Putz would have had. Later
  21. Frayed Knot wrote: Another day, another 9th inning loss by the Dodgers. They had actually tied the game with a run in bottom 8th and decided to turn the 9th inning of the tied game over to starter Kenta Maeda. But he promptly served up a run on three singles and LA failed to match in their half. So that's now five straight losses, all to division rivals (COL & SFG), all by one run and/or walk-off, and with 9 of the 19 runs they've allowed during that stretch coming in the 8th & 9th innings. Oh yeah, and they're not hitting either: 12 RS in 5 games The "pleasant" me says, "Couldn't happen to a nicer team". My evil twin joins folks who used to root for the Brooklyn Dodgers in saying, "I hope they never win another game and the fans boo the team out of town". I'm enjoying the heck out of their misfortunes. Later
  22. d'Kong76 wrote: If I hear one more thing about a quality start by Vargas... Well, at least we got a quality start from Vargas. (Ducking, but when you tee one up like that, it was only a matter of time. I just HAD to do it) Later
