1. =batmagadanleadoff post_id=60382 time=1618113813 user_id=68] Marlins winning pitcher Trevor Rogers, now in his second season, has appeared in just eight games lifetime, all starts. He has just two lifetime wins, both against Jacob deGrom. Rogers' only other win came here --

3. The odds on Jake opting out after the 2022 season are looking better and better. Later
4. I wonder if Luis Rojas is still confident about the competence of the advance scouting department. They roll over for any pitcher they haven't (or have rarely) seen, a problem they've had for years. Later
5. Who is Jazz Chisholm Jr and why does he have to hit his one f'n annual homer off Jake? Later
6. =G-Fafif post_id=60312 time=1618071871 user_id=55] Davis to IL. Jose Peraza called up. Franklyn Kilome DFA'd.
7. So, now he can walk? And talk? Later
8. Chad ochoseis wrote: Welcome, new guy. Edgy, do we still make first timers send a video of themselves standing on a table and singing a mashup of "I'm a Little Teacup" and the second stanza of "Meet the Mets"? I want newbies to stand on that table and sing their school fight song. Oh, and they have to carry our luggage on the next road trip. Later
9. =seawolf17 post_id=60250 time=1617999319 user_id=91] That's brilliant.
10. I guess Jeter doesn't make the umpires better. Later
11. Was Backman batting right or left handed when he homered? He only hit one home run that year and that was it. Later
12. Rojas: "We benched Smith and McNeil because we've got to get guys like Villar and Pillar in some games." Also Rojas: On pace to pitch Castro and May in 120 games each this year On the pre-game radio show, when asked by Ed Coleman about the starter they had never seen before, Rojas said "We have video of him and our advance scouts told us what he throws". Really? Did they watch those tapes? Did they read the scouting reports? Does this guy throw a kind of pitch they've never heard of before? Obviously they either didn't watch, didn't learn anything, or, as I have said often when they are embarrassed by a pitcher they haven't seen before, their advance scouting is incompetent. When we had a thread of what we would do as the new owner, I mentioned firing those scouts. I'd say the same thing today. Later

15. I wish they could have included Ichiro's totals (4367 combined MLB and Japan), so we wouldn't have to see that bat rastard Rose at the top of the list. Later

17. Just work the old patch into a uni concept. Change the slogan. It's got the Mets/NY colors built in. I worked at the NY World's Fair (both years) when in college. Later
18. Edgy MD wrote: He's not particularly in a funk. He's hitting the ball hard most times up, but they just aren't dropping in. So then, do we add this to the manager's "WTF?" list? Later
19. Benjamin Grimm wrote: The obvious first take on this is that McNeil is sitting. His Spring doldrums have continued into the regular season. But against a righthander? When are they scheduled to see their next lefty starter? Or is he is such a funk it wouldn't make a difference? Later
20. =G-Fafif post_id=59906 time=1617809467 user_id=55] For a while I thought David Peterson was Tim Peterson.
21. None of them bother me unless they obstruct some of the action (the director keeps it up when the ball is in play). What does bother me is the news crawl at the bottom of the screen during some news broadcasts. Some stations keep it going during commercials, but some don't. If they interrupt them, some re-start from the point of interruption, which is ok. But the ones that really bother me are when they interrupt the crawl just before sports scores are coming on. Then after the break they re-start it from the beginning. So we have to wade through national news headlines, local news, weather, traffic and then, maybe , the scores start. Yes, I could change the channel to SNY, but my cable carrier stopped providing SNY, so I am at the mercy of the 11:00 news shows until the sports segment comes on at around 11:25. Pisses me off. The wait turns what should be a relaxing time at the end of the evening into a stressful one. Later
22. There's an Odor about the MFYs. https://twitter.com/jeffpassan/status/1379494111514886147?s=21https://twitter.com/jeffpassan/status/1379494111514886147?s=21 There already is an odor there. That will be like flushing the toilet when your septic tank is already full. Later
23. I wouldn't wear that if I were in a dimly lit room playing solitaire. But in front of a crowd and a TV audience? What were they thinking? Later
24. There are times when I wish DeGrom had a little of Bob Gibson's assertiveness in him. Gibby would have told someone coming out to the mound to remove him, "Go back to the dugout and sit the fuck down". Later
