The Mets will have to do something spectacular to make the back page headline tomorrow. The Jets traded quarterback Sam Darnold. Later

JD Davis might be the dumbest. He's "not sure if he will get the vaccine: https://www.yardbarker.com/mlb/articles/mets_3b_jd_davis_unsure_if_hell_get_covid_19_vaccine/s1_13132_34529750https://www.yardbarker.com/mlb/articles/mets_3b_jd_davis_unsure_if_hell_get_covid_19_vaccine/s1_13132_34529750 J.D. Davis said he hasn't thought about whether he'll get a COVID-19 vaccine. "It's a personal preference and everybody has their own choice of doing so," he said, noting that he wants to be sensitive to those who have struggled with/died from the disease. Hasn't thought about it? Really? Smartest? DeGrom, who hasn't commented on the issue. LAter

14-7, 3.14 ERA He is the silent assassin of the starting staff. Teams are so concerned with the others in the rotation that he sneaks up on them. He will be looked upon as one of the key pickups in the off season. Later

That's got to be at least as rare as a no-hitter. But in a few innings it's almost certainly going to be just another game. When Koufax pitched one of his no-hitters, the opposing pitcher (Bob Hendley) gave up just one hit. https://www.mlb.com/news/bob-hendley-one-hitter-loses-to-sandy-koufax/c-148255150https://www.mlb.com/news/bob-hendley-one-hitter-loses-to-sandy-koufax/c-148255150 Later

Google Miguel Cabrera's HR today - opposite field with heavy SNOW coming down, you dont see that very often! It snowed for a while during my first Mets game at the Polo Grounds in 1962. But nothing like that. I asked the guy behind me (he had his scorecard out) who that was coming in from the bullpen. He said "Santa Claus". When I turned around and looked at the field, it was snowing. Later

A welcome back fans letter from the Commissioner: https://view.mail.mlblists.com/messages/1617282227202c6f072df0e92/rawhttps://view.mail.mlblists.com/messages/1617282227202c6f072df0e92/raw We are excited to embark on the 2021 season, with new rivalries and the young superstars who are making a significant impact on our game. But, most important of all, we are thrilled to welcome fans back to all 30 of our ballparks. Baseball fans bring so much energy to the park, and our game is so much better with that passion in the stands. We are hopeful that hearing the sounds of a ballgame in-person represents important progress towards a 2021 that looks and feels closer to normalcy. Later
