  1. Anybody have Crane bucks riding on this? Later
  2. Conversely, does an umpire in baseball tend to call against the home team if the fans are booing him for a bad call earlier in the game? I always felt Lee Weyer had a hard-on for the Mets late in games if he was "called out" by the fans after a bad call, but I'm not sure if he was like that with other fans/teams. And there was certainly no way to measure it. Just a gut feel. Later
  3. Outfielder Omir De Los Santos hit a walkoff homer for St. Lucie last night. He now has 15 home runs and 70 (that is not a misprint) stolen bases this year. I hope we'll start seeing him on prospect lists very soon. Later
  4. Frayed Knot wrote: Braves up 3-0 in the 6th That was the final score. Starter Spencer Strider struck out 16 batters , an all-time Braves record. When you consider the great pitchers they have had over the years, that's something. Later
  5. I picked 22 because when I was a kid I learned to shoot a .22 rifle - as logical reason as any to pick a number. Later
  6. He has a "loose body" in the ankle and will be able to resume baseball duties soon. https://metsmerizedonline.com/francisco-alvarez-dealing-with-loose-body-in-right-ankle/https://metsmerizedonline.com/francisco-alvarez-dealing-with-loose-body-in-right-ankle/ sigh of relief. Later
  7. The action wasn't only on the field (I'm still not sure if this is what you call a blind link. I never have heard of the site before, but saw the article and URL on the Dickiethon fan club page. ) https://www.blogto.com/sports_play/2022/08/toronto-blue-jays-game-fans-kicked-out-sex-in-stands/https://www.blogto.com/sports_play/2022/08/toronto-blue-jays-game-fans-kicked-out-sex-in-stands/ Dimitri Karakostas was one of several game attendees who can, not by choice, confirm that Chicago wasn't alone in getting f*cked at the stadium last night. "Uh, I filmed a couple having sex at the Blue Jays game today in the 500s," he told blogTO when sending over some shocking (and frankly hilarious) exclusive video footage on Tuesday. In the clips, we see what looks like a woman in a white dress straddling a man at the very back of the stadium, right where the dome splits apart and spreads wide open on sunny days. While it's hard to know for certain, witnesses seem pretty confident that the couple got past third base. Later

  9. Say "hello" to Radar O'Reilly if you see him there in Iowa. Later
  10. I think I only boo-ed one player, and that was Bob Gibson for beaning Tommie Agee in his first Spring Training with the Mets. I did it for a while until I realized Gibson pitched everyone that way. Later
  11. The Mets are calling up infielder Deven Marrero and right-hander Adonis Medina from Syracuse as their two September call-ups.(as per a minor league report) Does Venitos have to perform sexual favors to be called up? Later
  12. Here's a summary of every commercial now being shown: Kevin Hart Later
  13. Did they ever have a Lee with a number ending in three? Later
  14. Terence Gore? They would have to add him to the 40 man roster. If they wanted a speed guy, why not Lee, who is already on the 40 man? And with Baty on the IL, it would be a perfect time to call up Vientos who plays 3B. You got a lot of 'Splainin' to do, Lucy. Later
  15. Well put. Later
  16. =G-Fafif post_id=105898 time=1661980126 user_id=55] I'm glad I did.”
  17. I guess he needs a good editor who would have caught that contradiction. Later
  18. You'll be able to answer that yourself if you read the piece. Later
  19. Who is the LA pitching coach performing that magic? Last time I looked, they had the best team ERA by a wide margin. Later
  20. Tony went to SUNY Binghamton, so he's no stranger to central NY State. Later
  21. I wondered why Wakefield and Ron Locke had the two best bullpen ERA's (about 3.60)on that 1964 team, were still young, and never made it to the '65 team. Later
  22. The Mets have plenty of playoff bullpen options, including trusted starters such as Carrasco or Peterson (and Williams), as well as returning-from-injury options like Megill and Smith. The real worry is, as noted, that the offense was insufficiently upgraded at the deadline. SNY agrees that both are a concern: https://www.sny.tv/articles/playoffs-nearing-mets-catching-lefty-relief-deficiencieshttps://www.sny.tv/articles/playoffs-nearing-mets-catching-lefty-relief-deficiencies Instead of Rodriguez, it should've been Seth Lugo (who almost certainly won't be available Wednesday anyway) pitching a second inning. Lugo, by the way, has held lefties to a .184/.259/.263 line this season. Rodriguez has had a few impressive moments this year, but has been a big disappointment overall, with a 5.17 ERA and 1.53 WHIP in 38.1 innings. That he was in a tie game in the seventh inning last night is a problem. Later
  23. If you'd rather see Nate Fisher coming into games instead of Joely Rodriguez, join me by raising your hand. And can somebody please explain why they didn't re-sign Aaron Loup? Later
  24. Jake Reed? That hurts. Later
  25. NOW Gallo decides to do something in New York? Shit! Later
