  1. If they stay in rotation Font misses the Nats when they visit Citi next week so it prolly all comes out in the wash. But, I agree, this is the time to separate the Nats from the good teams in the East
  2. Nogosek is really rocking the Casbah. I sorta thought he was the least of the Bosox Trio but may have been mistaken about that. Not that Class AA relief pitchers are worth getting all that excited about.
  3. Looie, Looie, Looie, Luis Guillorme
  4. I think of Altherr as a guy the Mets couldn't get out, at least for a while, and it made me think they don't advance scout properly. Not that I know that to be true.
  5. To Brodie's credit they also surrounded him with Plan B's including Gomez, Gregor Blanco and Rajai Davis, but I'll bet all of them were Omar guys.
  6. Rays had both their catchers go down to injury this week, that's the condition that didn't exist when the Mets were pulling the trigger. Speaking of former Mets I think we'll see Carlos Gomez in for Broxolli soon. Letter could be lost if we try to send him down so it wouldn;t surprise me if the Mets are hoping some other team gets an outfielder injury
  7. I approve of us beating the hell out of the Marlins. Gotta beat em so may as well make it decisive
  8. Lol Jeter with your shitty uniforms we can't even read the front of and your shitty attendance and your laughable trades.
  9. Jeff calls a 90-minute come-to-Jesus meeting with Mickey. https://nypost.com/2019/05/10/mets-crisis-meeting-wilpon-summons-callaway-van-wagenen-for-powwow/https://nypost.com/2019/05/10/mets-crisis-meeting-wilpon-summons-callaway-van-wagenen-for-powwow/ While the meeting was not contentious, it was atypical. Van Wagenen has made regular contact with the manager and ownership a key tenet in his administration. That Wilpon thought it was important enough to call this meeting indicates both heightened urgency for the team to begin playing better and that Callaway is not on the sturdiest ground. What's interesting here I guess is the notion that if the players aren't Mickey fans this could be the end of Mickey
  10. =Ceetar post_id=9659 time=1557503064 user_id=102] It's out in center field, no? the dumb Ford thing? I tweeted about it a bunch during opening day, took a bunch of pictures of the ridiculous thing. Typical 'path of least resistance' stuff, where they just throw out whatever was pitched at them by the approved MLB marketing vendors. These guys do the loops at the Winter Meetings selling this stuff to the teams. If you check out promotional calendars across the league, you see a lot of similarities. The airplane race was so perfectly fitting that they ditched in ..2004? was dumb. Just bring that back! You can even still use the 4 Shea colors for nostalgia reasons.
  11. The real amazin' thing is that he gets in 3 guitar solos in that song
  12. This is the thing with the Mets isn't it? They are always trying to solve last year's problems this year. Rather they don't solve things but just a make a show of moving on from whatever they could blame last year's problems on. We tried hitting home runs last year and it didn't work! So let's hire the hitting coach least associated with home runs!
  13. That's such booshit. Also, another year, another vapid ripoff Ford between-innings promotion that's not funny or entertaining in the least. This year they tried ripping off the Braves by having fans challenge an athlete, only to challenges like burpees and pullups, that they shoot underneath the stands (I guess in the trainer's area or whatever) so it's completely devoid of baseball or Ford for for that matter. You may recall they also embarrassed themselves ripping off the Brewers a few years ago with the race (only cars instead of sausages -- not funny!). Last year I think they junked people dressed as ugly cars for a tricycles disguised as cars race, which was also not funny or interesting.
  14. How about that? Matz and Alonso virgin winners! Vargas out-Schaefering deGrom! Great cards of course
  15. Most Kevin Smiths I've met are thick, if not outright fat... that's true. Same goes double for most Doug Smiths
  16. Mets should call the Corey Hotline
  17. who the hell voted for the Matlack cover and why?
  18. Strawberry had such a photographable stance and swing, art directors couldn;t resist it. I also like Jose here. The funny thing about the Matlack cover is that the assumption is that TSN isn't really trying but then you look at the 3D banner logo and you think, maybe they ARE trying, but they just suck.
  19. Burly Bashlor is like relief Fake News. Supposed to be good ; instead is a stiff sinewy meatball factory dumbass
  20. Conforto needs to stop sub-900-OPSing NOW!!!!
