  1. This without a doubt is Sherlock's last season in Metville.
  2. More like Baseball IN-Digest-ion! Am I right fellas?
  3. Wow, I also also screwed up the order. Wednesday is Discalfani-deGrom; Thursday is Synbdergaard vs. 24-year-old Tyler Mahle or Tamale as he's know around the clubhouse. Mahle es muy malo. 0-3, 4.50
  4. They got off to a terrible start, and they deservedly are in last place is the league's weakest division, but shh... they have really good pitching. This week's matchups (edited for accuracy): Roark-Wheeler Castillo-Vargas DiScalfani-deGrom Mahle-Syndergaard If you're like me you didn't even know Roark was Red. I saw his name on the probable pitchers list and thought we were prepping for another Washington series. He's 1-1, 3.24 so far, so not bad. The Reds are letting him start. The Tuesday Night Mets Club gets the Mismatch of the Week when Vargas draws Luis Castillo. Castillo (3-1, 1.23) might by the CYA winner if the season ended today, considering he's given up only 5 runs in 6 starts so far. That's an ERA+ of 369. Castillo is 26 years old and been traded 4 times already including twice by the Marlins (once for Andrew Cashner, again for Dan Straily). The Giants (Casey McGehee) and Padres (Colin Rea) might also be kicking themselves. Freehold, N.J.'s Anthony DiScalfani is 1-1, 4.26 and has a notion deep inside that it ain't no sin to be glad he's alive. In the bullpen there's Michael Lorenzen (1.29) who's also a very good hitter; 6 career HRs. Also Robert Stevenson (1.93); lefty Wandy Peralta (1.00); and a lefty I've never heard of, Amir Garrett (1.54) -- all ERAs under 2. Closer Raisel Iglesias is not so hot, but the pen has more than half of the Cincy victories. I don't know anything about their lineup however.
  5. Because... Rene Fuckin Rivera
  6. This Hader is like a rascist Fake deGrom
  7. Ramos needs to avoid his 200th double play this yeat
  8. I'm pretty pessimistic but um...
  9. Darnaud needs to be dealt to Tampa Bay or perhaps Arizona. Maybe Oakland or SF. Perhaps Cincinnati.
  10. Im beginning to think we need to fire Mickey, just to say, this isn't acceptable. They haven't played well at all. They're not good.
  11. Shoulda traded him to the MFYs
  12. Syndergaard is a disgrace. I mean, we need some quality pitching to have a chance.
  13. Grew up a Mets fan, extra points for that. I say he'll be up here any day now, and will probably start and relieve, and not be that good, or that bad, but just sorta be.
  14. Be sure to appropriately blame him in our handy poll. What a disappointing night! Turned off the Mets to DVR the Islanders, watched that game come its disappointing conclusion and re-tuned in in time to see what a mess they'd continue to make.
  15. But gotta turn it off for now.
  16. I liked hearing from Neil Allen.
  17. I imagine there's a lot of impetus for a 25th guy on the roster type, or really any part of a team, to want to show loyalty to the group, the "I've got you're back, you hit one of us you hit all of us" and all that. The way everybody had their "ball just got away" lines down pat after Tuesday's game leads me to believe the whole thing was coordinated from the top (or the middle, if that's how you view the role of the manager). My guess is whoever took the mound in the ninth was going to be directed to back Hoskins off the plate. Stealing while down eight runs -- the nerve! Yeah, Rhame was in the bullpen when the alleged offending activity went down, I'm sure he ran in with specific instructions
  18. I hate the Brewers. I liked 'em enough when they were in the AL 35 years ago. They still play Ryan Braun for one thing
  19. Lefty Specialist wrote: I don't have a problem with Hoskins styling around the bases. He earned it by ducking two missiles at his head. Nobody earns the right to exhibit poor sportsmanship. It's still poor sportsmanship.
  20. I wouldn;t doubt we Omar-up the first round and pick a college guy with a trick pitch who will be in the big-league bullpen in 5 weeks
  21. yeah I missed the early signals too. But not surprising there was some, often these things go on for a while before the next thing happens. Hoskins mistake, hopefully, was thinking his peacock bullshit ended it.
  22. I had to give a vote to Zimmo so I had to take one ... from Fred & Jeff! You're not off the hook, you guys
