  1. Howie is talking about the grass.
  2. Acquired from seriously, I just used a racist word when I really meant "Guardians". Looks like a guy called Brooks Pounders. Pitches like crap in 3 stops so far but on active roster, Peterson down.
  3. I kept my cards in a Topps case box I got from the candy store guy for years. It finally disintegrated a few years ago.
  4. An obit I saw said Marshall's second wifey passed away just 48 hours before he did. She had struggled with MS or some other ailment and had required Dave's care for years.
  5. Oh, I like this idea. Gather X-number of nominations from participating voters and set up a field of 128 or something. https://kronozio.blob.core.windows.net/images/card/ebe80c65fd9f43069006b19fd62d6b3a_front.jpg>
  6. Yeah I hate Diaz too. The Mets never learn
  7. Cards are scoring at the same pace we are and pitching better on a RS/RA basis. Paul Goldschmidt, who sounds like a 19th century St. Louis beer baron, is having an only ok year, Goldschmidt-wise. Guys like Paul deJong (who slaughtered us last year), Kolten Wong and Harrison Bader are their real performers offensively. Thanks for listening to this WKTE newsflash
  8. Like both these. Movin Mets great headline on a completely still figure, but it's still an action shot. Armed Force really got me in the gut emotionally. All pumped up and wanna buy a pair of Roos.
  9. Underdog and Spiderman = best underlying material and those came out pretty good. Scooby Doo sounded like a Matthew Sweet song before Matthew Sweet did it. I loved the idea of this more than the record itself, to me it came off too self-consciously "alternative" -- like they had to fuzz up and over-louden everything or be exposed for their lack of alternativism.
  10. I was so mad after game 1 I didn't turn on the TV till the bottom of the second and missed the Alonso HR
  11. The Jose cover is such a terrific portrait and the white background makes it look super clean despite all the cluttery type. The only flaw is the black dropshadow but that's the Mets fault not the ESPN art dept. The New Yorker illustration is quality too but it looks like deGrom's face and hair on Syndergaard's body. Maybe that was the point? Not sure on that.
  12. You could tell Gomez was trying to do what he did
  13. Why are they even called the Archies? Reggie looks like the singer.
  14. This is more like it. But no stopping here😲
  15. Was thinking it would be cool if Rajai Davis could have won Bench Player of the Month based on his one game but I guess not. Dig the recordbreaker card.
  16. We're a disgrace. This was the one we had to win and jumped out on Tanaka. Mets appear to have no plan to pitch the bottom third of the lineup, field indifferently, give something up and never get it back.
  17. This is how this shit MFY team wins. It's not that they're good it's that teams suck when they play them. The Mets should be embarrassed
  18. Frazier's stupid nobody on, 2 out error sure didn't help.
  19. And another. What a freaking waste
  20. Urshela, the most happy fella fucking hell, Wheels with the homers
