Jared Young hits the ball a ton. Even in his first go round when he stunk up the joint he still hit it hard

I dont know if they showed the ceremony on tv but Mazz was much warmer and grateful for the honor than i expected he would be, at one point he thanked the Cohens for bringing history back to the Mets, which certainly was a shot at the Wilpons. I was moved by his humanity, i really was. Bobby Vee you could tell had given versions of his speech at a lot of banquets but he too was warm, even tho he went on way too long. He had a nice thing to say about everyone up there, even Steve Phillips. It was good to see Torre there, Al Leiter, Mookie, McIlvaine, etc

Yeah as shitty as the Marlins played in the field the number of times theyve come back tonight is nothing short of humiliating. How dare they disrespect our best night in weeks

It's insane that the biggest need this team has is a right-handed slugger who can play first base

Does anyone remember the Ike Davis home run I'm talking about? I wanna say it was early in the season, I wanna say it was Atlanta. It was a tough left-handed reliever. Was it Johnny Venters?

I think it would be interesting to see Mendy bang a fist on his desk and insist Young is an everyday major leaguer

Vientos has an OPS+ of 85 and is OBPing at .267. He possesses RH power and we need some of that. Gradually become an OK defender. But as noted in the game thread, we're over him. Jared Young looks better to me as a guy but small sample--he's second on the team in OPS+! -- and would need to shake the reserve label. Competent with the glove I think. Polanco is a switch hitter with a good track record but not sure if you want him and his achilles at first base Ryan Clifford-- Legit LH hitting slugger but 75 Ks in 184 ABs in Syracuse. ow Maybe Tauchmann? If he can answer the bell this year Who's on first?

As posted in the Memories thread I recall the Davis one. I think it was when he was really struggling but before the Valley Fever diagnosis and I wanted to believe it was the swing that turned his/our season around. It wasn't. Anyway Duan remembers too.
