  1. I highly doubt the footage of ANY network postseason game in 1969 (The World Series and LCSs) exists in complete form. (Not talking about the highlight films done by the teams and MLB) From what I gather the early 70's is when the networks started getting their act together in complete archiving of sporting events. Sure bits and pieces still exist thanks to kaladiscoping (sp, basically someone made a recording of whatever was appearing on a TV monitor) and whatever original tape survived, but the actual complete game footage from NBC is lost to history. I'm under the impression that 1975 is the oldest surviving complete World Series, hence it got released on DVD earlier this year, and the 1973 World Series game that gets shown on ESPN Classic from time to time (the long one, Game 2 I believe with the Buddy Harrelson play at the plate) is the oldest nearly complete surviving World Series game The 1969 World Series Highlight Film will be re-released on DVD (on a single disc with the 1986 one) later this month
  2. I'm going to pretend thats Fairfield University's Bellermine Hall in that I! Looks like the back courtyard alittle The day I graduated in 1999, the Mets were coming from behind to beat Schilling and the Phillies at Shea!

  5. 2 more Met Wins and/or Braves losses Officially ends the 11 year run as NL East Champs for the Atlanta Braves
  6. Have no clue if they are still using this, but I remember this as Massachusetts' jingle for their tourism campaign: The Spirit of Massachusetts is the Spirit of America The Spirit of the Old Red White And Blue... Thats all I remember of the TV ad...

  8. TJ Tied! Bobby Mathews 297 Can not find another photo of the guy Tommy John 288 Tommy Glavine 288
  9. Love Bobbin Heads (and other collectables/toys) that tend to look nothing like the person they are supposed to be, but more of a general sense of what the person looks like
  10. Of course who could forget this Magic Met Moment And the guy who decapitates felines

But to me, the current Los Angeles Dodgers are just another team. I was even able to turn around and root for them in the 1988 World Series, back when I still had "league spirit" and always rooted for the National League in the World Series. I got a big kick out of Kirk Gibson's home run. But now it's been so long since the Dodgers mattered that I really don't care about them at all. I wouldn't mind beating them in the NLCS this year to atone for 1988. Granted I was 11 at the time, but I really didn't give a rats tuckus about that World Series. I almost root for the MFY when they play the Angels, thats how much Scioscia's HR bothered me

  13. No love for The Rutles: All You Need Is Cash? = I'd consider the original Producers for these lists though. Granted it only has one complete number, it has its roots in musicals. Coal Miner's Daughter probably fits along the Ray, Buddy Holly and Walk The Line of bio pics of music artists in the last 40 years
  14. No 8 this year. Currently issued to someone who's secondary job is apparantly Roving Catching Instructor. Despite the fact that he is doing a darn good job in Pt. St Lucie as the skipper!
  15. Uh, never mind, Rollins out trying to stretch it into a double, and Victorino made out, Astros win!

  17. Two on, one out Rollins up against Lidge in the 9th
