  1. I thought you were referring to the minimum stay for an optioned player in AAA before they can be recalled again.
  2. Frayed Knot wrote: =roger_that post_id=191400 time=1746115983 user_id=128] This massive shuttling between NYC and Syracuse is what I was advocating to reduce the size of the pitching staff. Keep sending relievers back and forth with instructions not to use them too freely when they're in Syracuse. There's a limit to how often you can make those moves these days.
  3. =kcmets post_id=191557 time=1746297184 user_id=53] Tomorrow doesn't look much better.
  4. =Centerfield post_id=191330 time=1746064337 user_id=65] Don't agree with Mendy giving this kid a second inning.
  5. 1,263. Kevin Herget
  6. =Fman99 post_id=191201 time=1745971831 user_id=86] That may be the best defensive 1-2-3 by a Mets team that I ever watched. All three of those plays were exceptional.
  7. Catching up: 1,260. Justin Hagenman 1,261. Jose Azocar 1,262. Jose Urena
  8. Nimmo has a 3.200 OPS today.
  9. It seems like his whole approach has gone sideways after moving out of the leadoff spot. He used to be an incredibly patient hitter and has seemingly abandoned that approach after he was moved elsewhere in the order.
  10. wtf was that
  11. Minter to IL, Jose Urena called up.
  12. And therein lies even more of the problem. Who the fuck called the out if the first base umpire didn't have a good view and the second base umpire thought the ball dropped? Just awful all around. How do they not at a bare minimum get together and discuss as a group?
  13. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: You couldn't get the toothpaste back in It's reviewable if exact same thing happens in the outfield and would have the exact same problem about what to do with the runners. And, in this case, it's very clear what would happen: Winker is out at first, Nimmo safe at third, Vientos safe at second. Also, wtf was the umpire doing making the safe sign when they threw the ball to second base?
  14. Also Senger for Alvarez (which of course is no surprise). Baty's a nice guy but he's just never hit.
  15. Edgy MD wrote: After a day off in their own beds Interestingly, they didn't do the off-day in NY. They flew to Dulles Wednesday evening. Odd to have a one-city road trip too - they're right back in NY on Tuesday.
  16. 36,468 tickets sold which is pretty good for an April Tuesday. Agree the crowd was great. Loved the Torrens reaction after getting disrespected by the intentional walk and Mendoza not lifting him for Nimmo. I don't remember who won the borough race but it remains all scripted. I think the Mets just might affirmatively prefer Kerkering to come in to games now.
  17. I also am convinced of that fact, even if I know from an abstract statistical point of view that it's always better to bank runs. I'm also convinced, with even less evidence, that it is always the Mets who do that (World Series Game 2 a classic example) and never the opponent. Tonight might be the first time ever.
  18. Lefty Specialist wrote: Woof. Let's not do that any more, please. Top of the 3rd is a little early but that could have been the Foxwoods Resort Casino turning point of the game right there.
  19. Edgy MD wrote: Lindor is purty close to all-time franchise shortstop status, if he hasn't achieved it already. I think he takes that title from Jose with one more good year in 2025.
  20. One thought: we had discussed in another game thread earlier this season how Soto was looking not very fleet of foot out there. Pleased to see today him (1) looking like had pretty good speed coming home to score from first on Pete's double; and (2) stealing a base.
  21. Frayed Knot wrote: So is asking for a 'Crew Chief Review' restricted to certain innings? Staring the 8th inning, a crew chief has discretion to conduct a review of any reviewable call either on his own initiative or at the request of a manager who has no challenges. The crew chief can initiate their own review of a home run/not a home run call at any time during the game.
  22. Edgy MD wrote: Even Diaz on the mound, even with Diaz having used both of his throw-overs, you can't stop Torrens from throwing would-be base thieves out. Per the radio guys, Bader had the base stolen but just came off the bag. Credit to Lindor for diligently keeping the tag on.
  23. -Britton reporting that Canning is “under the weather” and a spot starter will go tomorrow afternoon in his place, and that Justin Hagenman would otherwise be starting for Syracuse tomorrow. -Not known yet whether they’ll option Brazoban or DFA Danny Young. -No position player move yet announced to replace Siri.
  24. Fractured tibia. He’s going to be out at least 6-8 weeks.
  25. Last night notwithstanding, Crow-Armstrong hasn't really shown an ability to hit in the major leagues. The Defense and speed are certainly there. The Athletic has reported that those contract extension negotiations have been tabled. He's under Cubs' control until 2030.
