Also, re: Division Series Game 1: Mets vs. Padres or Dodgers will bump the Yankees to the 4:00 game.

="Yancy Street Gang"]Yes, but what if no games are being played on the west coast? Hopefully they'd at least make it a 9 p.m. local start time for a team in the Central time zone. (Minnesota or St. Louis.) Then they'd alter the TV schedule. There's no chance that a game played in New York would start at 10 PM EDT. None whatsoever.

No game will start at 10 PM in New York. That 10 PM start would be if one of the West Coast teams was hosting the Phillies in the first round.

I too was surprised by Wright not stopping at second. If some blame falls to Wright some should also fall to Manny Acta (who's supposed to be watching the play instead of just running) for not stopping him.

Fick came right out to play first but Kearns stayed out there for a minute or two longer before getting taken out too. The Mets shut off all the music, scoreboard animations, stupid "ev'rybody clap yo' hands" etc. after the injury. Notably no Enter Sandman playing. Music returned as they won with Taking Care of Business.

That makes it just that much more baffling, given that he hit for Stinnett. What would Willie have done if we tied it? Down 1, it's not far out of the realm of possibility.

I was surprised not by the paid attendance but by the actual attendance. Looked like 35-40 were actually in the park tonight, despite the holiday, weather (it was a bit chilly) and meaninglessness of the game. Nice acknowledgement of Joan Hodges who was in the park tonight and turns 80 next week. I would've liked to see LoDuca instead of Franco pinch-hitting, especially given that LoDuca was coming into the game if the Mets had tied it up...and that Julio hasn't been hitting for shit lately. Maybe it was just my perspective but Zimmerman's hit though the left side wasn't really hustled after and I think we could've prevented that run from scoring on it.

The g.f. is taking the Sunday game off to go to the "spa." It's an Upper Box 738B. You could sit next to me (the horror!) or seat-surf your way somewhere else I'm sure. PM, email, etc.

No can do. Gotta use whatever leverage is possible to get out of work for potential afternoon playoff games.

Expect a few changes to that 6-man rotation as we come down the home stretch. Glavine will (in all liklihood) be put back on his regular 5th day, and Maine/Perez skipped in favor of Trachsel getting another start. vs. Washington Fri: El Duque vs. Pedro Astacio Sat: John Maine vs. Michael O'Connor Sun: Steve Trachsel vs. Tony Armas Jr. Mon: Tom Glavine vs. Beltran Perez at Atlanta Tue: Oliver Perez vs. John Smoltz Wed: Pedro Martinez vs. Tim Hudson Thu: Orlando Hernandez vs. Kyle Davies at Washington Fri: Steve Trachsel vs. Tony Armas Jr. Sat: Tom Glavine vs. Beltran Perez Sun: John Maine vs. Ramon Ortiz

Isn't that clock already ticking with his ML Contract and that he was on the 40-man ever since he signed?

I see a few people picked up four seats for NLDS, Game 1. I wonder if anyone would be interested in trading two of those seats to two for NLDS game 2? PM, email, etc...

Paul LoDuca introducing Omar Minaya to his father. http://pickmeup.mlblogs.com/pick_me_up_some_mets/2006/09/did_you_catch_t.html

I saw the Mets play there in '02. I know some updates have been made since. The design sucks -- there's basically no middle deck. The scoreboard layout is one of my favorites. Among the best in baseball.

That situation can only happen if the A's get homefield advantage over the AL Central Winner. The two NLDS series start on different days, so there's no situation in which the Mets, Yankees, and a third NLDS game will be played on the same weekday. It might happen on a Sunday, but gamtimes matter a bit less then I think.

Yancy Street Gang wrote: Let's see... I'm guessing that NLCS games 1, 3, 4, and 6 would be played on Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday, and Wednesday? No need to guess; those dates are correct. I should correct that the overlaps can only really happen during NLCS games 1 and 6 (ie. the Met home games), and that's assuming the Yankees would retain homefield advantage for the ALCS (likely but not guaranteed).

Mets NLDS Game 1 (regardless of the Mets' opponent) will be on the same day of a Yankees NLDS game. There are some potential Mets/Yankees overlap days for the ALCS/NLCS too. NLCS games 1, 3, 4 and 6 overlap to ALCS games 2, 4, 5, and 7.
