Aaron Harang should have a fair number of wins. Maybe he's one of those pitchers. Javier Vazquez? Jeff Suppan?

The Dodgers are 31-15 and have a +80 run differential (St. Louis is second with +25). I'd say they're pretty much the class of the league right now.

There is no service fee charged on tickets purchased in person at Citi Field. Hence the problem -- nymr83 went out there to save on these fees and buy his ticket in person, only to find that the affordable tickets had sold out.

Like it or not, the Mets are hardly alone in this sort of ridiculous fee-adding. Ticketmaster and Tickets.com do the exact same thing.

Originally, access to the Promenade Club was supposed to be reserved for "Promenade Club" ticketholders, people who had the seats in sections 406-423. Then, Jeff Wilpon and Kevin Burkhardt do an SNY special on Citi Field where it's strongly implied that anyone on the Promenade Level (whether your seats were "Club" "Box" or "Reserved") would have access. On opening night, it's just the "club" holders who are being allowed in. On the second homestand, it becomes clear that the club is being under-utilized, and access restrictions were lifted and anybody could just stroll in. Now this? Strange. My impression is that the employees aren't all on the same page and walking is as if you know what you're doing/sneaking by when the usher isn't looking/etc. will still be an effective way of gaining access.

There's a per-seat charge ($4-$7, price goes up as face value of seat goes up); A per-order charge of $5; and A $2.50 charge per order additional if you want to print them at home.

Were people buying the $69 (or more) seats? Or were they (like you) telling the Mets to shove it? I find it quite telling that the Mets have no problem moving their reasonably-priced tickets (most of which were gone as part of season ticket/plans) but there are always plenty of "middle" and "top" price tickets available to each game.

I was all about the sweep when we were up 5-3...oh well. Sweeping on the road is tough. Jerry's bullpen management left something to be desired but it's not as if anybody was particularly effective so even if I would've gone with Stokes over Green (or even just leaving Redding in) I'm hard pressed to say it would've been a difference-maker. My impression of Saturday and Sunday is that the Boston fans were not nearly as bad as the Yankee or Phillies fans and have a higher baseball IQ as well. There also didn't seem to be the usual element of Mets fans behaving badly on the road that is often seen in Philly or the Bronx.

Johan's shutout is an obvious choice but given the hostile road environment, excellent pitching performances from *both* starters and getting the opponent's closer, I'd agree. Perhaps sadly, in that it did not involve the Mets, I can still recount the entire bottom of the 9th in Game 7 of the 2001 World Series. This was a fantastic game to be in attendance. It's been quite a while since I've seen such a good game in person, and certainly not at a road game. I'd conservatively estimate about 15% Mets fans in the park, but they were appropriately loud when called for and got some good "Let's Go Mets" chants going. I thought we had a good chance of giving Papelbon a much-deserved comeuppance but after Wright struck out I'll admit to having thought that chance had passed. It was clearly a home run and the video review was perfunctory at best. Jerry was out of the dugout immediately and Joe West just put his hand up right away, clearly indicating that the review would be done. Whole Mets dugout was out on the field as Santos and Sheffield came back. Don't know what Francona was complaining about so much after the umps ruled it a homer. Reyes was hitting and taking balls at shortstop in pregame warmups today and looked fine there -- I guess it's just the running that he can't do. Glad to see that Ramon Martinez looked a bit more like a major league-caliber player tonight. The Red Sox have a nice little ballpark there in Boston -- I hadn't been in more than 10 years and they've certainly spruced the place up a bit. Food is nothing special but the atmosphere around the park is great. Somehow I managed to avoid heading to the Cask and Flagon for a post-game celebratory beverage though -- just didn't seem like the wise thing to do at that point. Funny how we can have the worst loss of the year and the best win of the year in the same week.
