  1. Still 4/21 here buddy. This is what you get for being too many time zones ahead.
  2. Edgy DC wrote: They weren't scoring runs that Dodger series, although that got plenty of hits, so I have to assume they bunted their lives away. Only once: in the top of the 9th in a tie game after a leadoff walk. No, the runner didn't score. That was the game that we didn't get any hits after the 6th inning (it went 13). There wasn't a lot of hitting that series but what killed any chances at scoring was bad/unlucky baserunning (several runners thrown out attempting to steal) and a couple of Ks/GIDPs with runners in scoring position and less than 2 outs.
  3. Reyes 2 Beltran 2 Murphy 2 Isringhausen 1
  4. Let's count down the unfuckingbelievable moments from the game tonight: 5. Ike Davis strikes out with the bases loaded and 1 out in the first. 4. On a walk/WP in the top of the 2nd, Josh Thole retrieves the ball from the backstop and flips UNDERHAND to Dickey covering at the plate. Had he properly thrown it overhand, they would have had a play. 3. RA Dickey not being able to get a bunt down properly. 2. Angel Pagan bad-baserunning like it's 2008-9 again. 1a. Josh Thole bunting on the FIRST PITCH instead of giving Jose a chance to steal; and 1b. Josh Thole, unable to bunt properly. This should have been an enjoyable game. I can deal with losses fine but losses where we do incredibly stupid shit are intolerable.
  5. They seem to run it once every three innings, yet it still hasn't gotten old yet. "I'm now called upon to review the dry erase board rules."
  6. Outstanding.
  7. Ceetar wrote: Because we all really think Citi Field had 27k last night and that it wasn't embarrassing? And fans aren't taking pictures of all the emptiness and posting it to Twitter and blogs? It's silly. I understand MLBs all about the secrecy and the don't embed our clips or dare to show them elsewhere OMG! but they're not fooling anyone. There's still a difference between widespread knowledge that "paid attendance does not equal actual attendance" and publishing cold, hard statistics that prove it.
  8. Tough to tell the douchebags apart on that team. Speaking of which, Kyle Kendrick was just brought into the game so I expect the Brewers will be fine.
  9. Homer was by Polanco (Victorino had singled to put the second runner on base).
  10. Right-center, I think.
  11. Actual turnstile attendance is considered by MLB as something they don't want the public or media to have, particularly to contrast with paid attendance figures. I'm quite sure the Mets do have that information available to themselves at least.
  12. They're presumably sending Parnell to the DL as they active Bay from same.
  13. It's just bad writing. Additionally, using the royal "we" is offensive.
  14. FYI: Mets announced that your tickets from last night can be exchanged for a free game against the Pirates, May 30-June 2.
  15. Niese 1.5 Beltran 1.5 Beato 1 Davis 1 Buchholz .5
  16. National Weather Service wrote: Tonight: Showers likely. Cloudy, with a low around 46. East wind between 7 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. They'll play; chance of a rain delay.
  17. Time to turn this into a protracted winning streak.
  18. Seems like an awfully hasty decision.
  19. Stubhub has a minimum service charge of $5 plus a $4.95 delivery fee so those are really $12.95 tickets but still, not break-the-bank kind of stuff. I would have put these tickets on stubhub myself, except there's no chance they'll sell. I had every intention of going tonight but plans shifted late last week. Too bad.
  20. Last chance; tickets available at Grand Central until 6 PM this evening...
  21. Cincinnati lost to Pittsburgh, 9-3. The more surprising news came before the game as it was revealed that pitcher Mike Leake was arrested for shoplifting $60 worth of merchandise from a Macy's in downtown Cincinnati.
  22. Leadoff walk + Carlos Gomez bunt + throwing error by Kyle Kendrick + Ryan Braun now up = Brewers should be taking a lead very soon in the top of the 12th.
  23. Ceetar wrote: After all, regardless of how much value K-Rod actually provides, getting rid of him is still going backwards to go further. It's difficult to locate logic in this sentence. I think this argument fails in that it incorrectly presumes that removing Rodriguez from the Mets automatically makes them a weaker team. Also: The Yankees hold options on Robinson Cano for both the 2012 and 2013 seasons at $14 and $15 million, respectively.
  24. Nick Evans platoon with Angel Pagan. Beltran (or hell, maybe even Bay) plays center on the days when Evans is in the starting lineup.
