He threw 193 innings with a WAR of 1.1.

Tampa won this evening, putting them 1.5 games back. Texas is +1 over Detroit for the second seed.

Fuck you, Victorino

That was a "interesting" catch by Evans there, getting turned around and then falling down to catch the ball that Rollins hit.

That's 15 now. This is certainly the right kid of day for it.

Wouldja believe that Tuesday is the last of our "package" of games for the year and we're going anyway? I'll wave down to you from the Promenade...

TransMonk wrote: Ultimately, I think a choice will be made between Capuano and Pelfrey. I'd take Cappy. But, my hunch is that Pelfrey will be in the Mets rotation for one more year. Their WARs are almost identical (1.6 Capuano, 1.7 Pelfrey) but given that Capuano is likely to get a 2-year deal on the open market (or more) I think the responsible move is to keep Pelfrey. I don't love the move but there aren't exactly a lot of better options for those 200 innings. I guess we could dump Pelfrey and sign CJ Wilson but the Mets presumably don't have the bucks for that.

If memory serves, we also swept the season-opening series in St. Louis in 2007, which means we won 3 out of 9 games in St. Louis in the '08-'10 seasons.

Unlike the NL, where the Phillies have home-field advantage locked up, there's a race for the first (and second) seeds in the AL: Yankees, Tigers (-3), Rangers (-4).

Sounds like Sandy being proactive.

Some info here but no details (ie. $$). Presumably a 1-year contract again.

The Detroit/Oakland game is not a regular Fox game; rather it was picked up by Fox (being produced by FSN Detroit) so that the game -- a potential division-clinching game for the Tigers -- wouldn't be blacked out, as it was scheduled in the "exclusive Fox window."

Nick Evans knows what you're talking about. He uses the catchy "You Wreck Me" from Tom Petty's Wildflowers and the surprising "Tweeter and the Monkey Man" from the still-underrated Traveling Wilburys' Vol. 1.

Dickey 2 Pagan 1 Wright .5 Herrera .5 Stinson .5 Carrasco .5 Byrdak .5

I too was really annoyed at the bunt with Pagan. Also: Wright just saw 4 balls in a row. Maybe you want to take a pitch and see if Storen is going to throw strikes before you start giving away those outs? It was Taiwan night at the park and Ang Lee threw out the first pitch. He was introduced as a "huge Mets fan." Also, Taiwan was introduced as the world's fourth largest island (it's nowhere close, whether measuring by area or population).

Howie: "[Terry] does not want this to get really ugly on Stinson" Gwreck: "Too f*cking late, buddy"

Four straight balls to start the 11th inning? Not impressive, Josh.

Dammit

Ok. Leadoff man on again (nice job, Thole). Now we win?
