  1. I'd put him out for the 8th.
  2. Fans chanting "over-rated" at Harper. I appreciate the sentiment but the correct chant is "Dooouche-bag."
  3. Was bedlam here at [crossout:2rs8luzu]Shea[/crossout:2rs8luzu] Citi. Awesome.
  4. I still very much enjoy attending Sunday night games. I like the spectacle. I like the fact that lots of people are watching when the Mets are doing well. I like that you can get everything else done on your Sunday and still go to the game. I also like avoiding idiotic ESPN announcers, from Morgan to Schilling. There's no way that I would miss attending the biggest game in Citi Field history. Let's Go Mets!
  5. A couple of other favorites: Dickey's one-hitter against the Phillies, August 14, 2010. Mets defeat Yankees on the night Rivera is "honored;" he blows save and loses game without recording an out. May 28, 2013 --- The no-hitter is still the clear choice for #1, I think. If they win tonight, maybe not.
  6. TransMonk wrote: Another great game! Going for the sweep in front of a national TV audience...it would be quite a statement. It's the most important game ever played in Citi Field.
  7. Washington has a 1-0 lead in Miami going to the bottom of the 9th. Wouldn't it be nice if their new closer coughed it up?
  8. At the risk of sounding heartless, I am feeling a lot less sorry for Wilmer Flores if his reaction was solely to fans telling him he had been traded. Seriously, what professional player actually listens to people in the stands?
  9. I still don't think the Flores issue has been addressed. This happened during a game - whoever is telling Flores he was traded during a game (and it certianly wasn't Terry or Sandy) is a douchebag. Put your phone away and concentrate on the game, idiot.
  10. Ken Rosenthal now claiming the Mets backed out due to concerns over Gomez' hip. I also put this mess on the media. Also, I remain confused how Flores knew he was being traded if this was going down during the game.
  11. Tyler F. Clippard, 1003
  12. Going to need a strikeout and GIDP, preferably in that order.
  13. I bet they probably have to leave him on the restricted list until the suspension is over (and then immediately release him), rather than doing that now.
  14. Tulowitzki to Blue Jays (!!), for Jose and prospects.
  15. Great night at the park with some friends who had access to nice seats. Great to see some offense. Was surprised Harvey was allowed to hit in the 6th and pitch the seventh. Why waste his arm on a meaningless inning? Heart setlist: Crazy on You Magic Man Kick It Out Straight On 59 Crunch Alone (stripped down version) Dear Old America The Witch (The Sonics cover) Immigrant Song (Zeppelin cover) Misty Mountain Hop (Zeppelin cover) Barracuda
  16. Wasn't there also a Rob Johnson sometime recently?
  17. Official now. Michael Conforto, #1000
  18. You trade Harvey, because he's the closest to free agency, a Boras client, and the least likely of all of them to sign a contract extension or sign as a free agent with the Mets. I'm not sure there's an impact player available via trade for Harvey though. This is why I want the Mets to sign free agents --something they've done a poor job of -- because (mostly) all it costs to do so is cash.
  19. The blind squirrel and the nut? (I'll take it anyway).
  20. I wouldn't hit for deGrom.

    Dodge THIS

I read it, and it *was* a very enjoyable read indeed.
  22. This sucks. Fuck the Cardinals.
  23. C'mon, Wilmer. Just put one in the gap.
